  • Trip introduction

    Embark on one of the most photogenic treks in Nepal and spend a week exploring the Langtang National Park. On this trek to Langtang Valley, you'll visit one of Nepal's oldest yak cheese factories, trek to the sprawling vast glacier of Tserko Ri, and visit the ancient monastery at Kynajing. All throughout the trek, you'll have gorgeous views of snow-capped Himalayan mountains like Mt. Langtang Lirung, Mt. Yala Peak, Mt. Kinshung and many more. At night, you'll sleep in quaint tea-houses, run by the ethnic Sherpa and Tamang natives, packed with Buddhist art and culture.

    Destination

    The Langtang Valley is a hotspot for diverse alpine wildlife and greenery, with over 150 species of birds chirping across the valley. The valley is located inside the Langtang National Park, home to animals like the Himalayan thar, the Himalayan black bear, the red panda and many more. Since the valley is situated so close to Tibet, influence of the Buddhist culture can be clearly seen across the villages, monasteries and tea-houses of Langtang. The valley is also home to the namesake Langtang Khola river, Langtang village and Mt. Langtang Lirung.

    Rules on the trip

    Travellers are required to carry a copy of their travel insurance (if obtained), a scanned copy of their passport and 3 passport-sized photos. These documents are required to obtain the necessary permits.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Travellers are required to adhere to instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Langtang Valley.

    Consumption of alcohol and drugs is prohibited during the trek. Consumption of tobacco products and cigarettes is not recommended.

    Cancellation policy

    For cancellations made more than 60 days before departure of the Langtang Valley trek: 100% refund.

    For cancellations made 60-30 days before departure of the Langtang Valley trek: 70% refund.

    For cancellations made 29-14 days before departure of the Langtang Valley trek: 40% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 14 days before departure of the Langtang Valley trek: no refund.

    In case of no show: no refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting international payment transfer fees. Please check with us what these charges will be for this trek to Langtang Valley.

    Travellers from outside Nepal are requested to carry enough cash in the local currency to cover tips to staff and other incidental expenses.

    All prices displayed are subject to fluctuations based on international currency exchange rates at the time of booking. Accordingly, prices may be subject to a foreign currency premium/discount at the time of booking.

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap, accident or loss of life during the trek to Langtang Valley.

  • Day 1 of the Langtang trek: Arrive in Kathmandu

    Arrive in Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. A representative of the tour operator will meet you at the airport and escort you to a pre-booked hotel in the city. Here, you'll meet the trek leader to chat about the trek itinerary and the weather conditions. Overnight in a hotel at Kathmandu.

    Day 2 of the Langtang trek: Kathmandu to Syabru Besi

    Early in the morning, you'll be escorted from your hotel to the bus station, where you'll board a local bus to Syabru Besi. Over an 8-9 hr journey, the bus will travel across countryside Nepal where you can get your first views of towering Himalayan peaks on the horizon. The bus will travel past Trishuli Bazaar, Betrawati and Dhunche before reaching Syabru Besi. Overnight in a tea-house at Syabru Besi.

    Day 3 of the Langtang trek: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel

    Begin the trek to Langtang Valley with the day's destination of Lama Hotel. Over the 6-7 hr trek, you'll enter the Langtang National Park and follow the course of the Langtang Khola river. Trekking through dense jungles, past a few sections of steep climbing, you'll reach Lama Hotel by late afternoon. You'll take a short stop at the village of Bamboo to have lunch. Overnight in a tea-house at Lama Hotel.

    Day 4 of the Langtang trek: Lama Hotel to Langtang

    Begin trekking from Lama Hotel to the village of Langtang. The trail, continuing alongside the Langtang Khola River, is shaded from the sun by the thick foliage of the trees, bushes and shrubs along the way. Plenty of alpine birds can be heard chirping and fluttering in a few patches. En route, you'll trek past a few villages, settled by the ethic Sherpa and Tamang natives. Overnight in a tea-house at Langtang.

    Day 5 of the Langtang trek: Langtang to Kyanjing Gompa

    Trek from Langtang to Kyanjing Gompa. En route, you'll catch breathtaking views of the Langtang range of mountains. After arriving at Kyanjing, you can take some time to rest before embarking on a short day hike to visit one of the oldest yak cheese factories in Nepal and the ancient monastery at Kyanjing. Spend the evening with views of a beautiful sunset. Overnight in a tea-house at Kyanjing Gompa.

    Day 6 of the Langtang trek: Day at Kyanjing Gompa

    Spend the day at leisure in Kyanjing Gompa. You can explore the small village and go on short, day hikes to visit the snow and moraine of the Tserko Ri glacier or trek uphill to the vantage point of the Kyanjing Ri lower peak. All throughout these treks, you'll have beautiful panoramic views of Mt. Langtang Lirung, Mt. Yala Peak, Mt. Kinshung and several other peaks. Return back to Kyanjing Gompa by late afternoon. Overnight in a tea-house at Kyanjing Gompa.

    Day 7 of the Langtang trek: Kyanjing Gompa to Lama Hotel

    Begin the return trek and make you way to Lama Hotel. Retracing your steps on a familiar route along the Langtang Khola River, you'll rapidly descend past the village of Langtang and arrive at Lama Hotel. Overnight in a tea-house at Lama Hotel.

    Day 8 of the Langtang trek: Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi

    Conclude the trek to Langtang Valley by climbing back down to the village of Syabru Besi. You'll exit the Langtang National Park and spend the evening celebrating the successful completion of the trek with your fellow trekkers. Overnight in a tea-house at Syabru Besi.

    Day 9 of the Langtang trek: Syabru Besi to Kathmandu

    Board a local bus back from Syabru Besi to Kathmandu. You'll bid goodbye to the mountains of the Himalayas and travel to the city lights of the capital. Spend the evening at the local marketplace shopping for souvenirs and gifts. The day's dinner will be at a popular restaurant in Kathmandu, where you'll have authentic Nepalese cuisine accompanied by a live show of cultural dance and music. Overnight in a hotel at Kathmandu.

    Day 10 of the Langtang trek: Depart Kathmandu

    Check-out of the hotel and travel to the Tribhuvan International Airport in a private vehicle as per your flight timings. Your trip ends here.

    Fly into Kathmandu. You'll be escorted from the airport to the hotel in a private vehicle. If you land in the morning, you can visit the local marketplace in the evening to shop for any last minute essentials. You'll be accommodated in deluxe hotel in Kathmandu on twin-sharing basis. Since today's meal package does not include any meals, you can visit any of the restaurants in Kathmandu to have meals at your own expense.

    Day 2 of the Langtang trek: Kathmandu to Syabru Besi

    Overnight in a tea-house at Syabru Besi.

    Travel from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi in a state transport bus. You'll be picked-up and escorted to the Kathmandu bus station by 06:30 hrs. The bus will make a brief halt at Trishuli Bazaar, where you can have lunch at your own expense. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Syabru Besi on twin/multi-sharing basis. Today's meal package includes breakfast and dinner.

    Day 3 of the Langtang trek: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel

    Overnight in a tea-house at Lama Hotel.

    Trek from Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Lama Hotel on twin/multi-sharing basis. In all tea-house accommodations, if twin-sharing rooms are unavailable, you may be allocated dormitory-style rooms on multi-sharing basis. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 4 of the Langtang trek: Lama Hotel to Langtang

    Overnight in a tea-house at Langtang.

    Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Langtang on twin/multi-sharing basis. In all tea-house accommodations, washroom facilities will be common to all guests at the tea-house. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 5 of the Langtang trek: Langtang to Kyanjing Gompa

    Overnight in a tea-house at Kyanjing Gompa.

    Trek from Langtang to Kyanjing Gompa. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Kyanjing Gompa on twin/multi-sharing basis. All tea-house rooms are usually equipped with a bed, blanket and bed sheet. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 6 of the Langtang trek: Day at Kyanjing Gompa

    Overnight in a tea-house at Kyanjing Gompa.

    Spend the day at leisure in Kyanjing Gompa. You'll be accommodated in the same tea-house at Kyanjing Gompa as yesterday. Some travellers prefer bringing their own sleeping bags to use in tea-houses. While not included, the tour operator can help you buy or rent a sleeping bag at Kathmandu. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 8 of the Langtang trek: Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi

    Overnight in a tea-house at Syabru Besi.

    After trekking for the whole day, spend the night in the same local tea house in Syabru Besi. Today's package includes all three meals of breakfast, lunch and dinner. All meals are served from a tea-house menu, allowing you to choose from the menu. Egg preparations are available for most meals.

    Day 9 of the Langtang trek: Syabru Besi to Kathmandu

    Overnight in a hotel at Kathmandu.

    Board a state transport bus from Syabru Besi to Kathmandu. The bus will make a brief halt at Trishuli Bazaar, where you can have lunch at your own expense. You'll be accommodated in deluxe hotel in Kathmandu on twin-sharing basis. Today's meal package includes breakfast and dinner. Dinner will be served at a popular restaurant in Kathmandu, accompanied by a live show of cultural music and dance performance.

    Day 10 of the Langtang trek: Depart Kathmandu

    Your trip ends by late morning.

    Check-out of the hotel and avail a transfer service back to the airport. Today's meal package includes breakfast only.
