Embark on one of the more challenging treks in countryside Maharashtra and scale the three neighbouring mountain peaks of Alang, Malang and Kulang. During this 2-day trek, you'll navigate large rocky patches, dense tree plantations, barren mountain sides and green grasslands. After navigating narrow trails that require clever footwork, you'll be rewarded with spectacular views of the Sahyadri mountains from the peaks of Alang, Madan and Kulang. Another unique feature of this trek, you'll spend the night in the ancient caves of Madangad and wake up to a morning sunrise over the rugged landscape of the Western Ghats.
Destination
The three neighbouring mountain peaks of Alang, Madan and Kulang stand tall overlooking the camping grounds of Bhandardara, just a short 1-hr drive away from Kasara. The three mountain peaks are home to three historic forts that trace their construction back to the 18th century. These forts, accessible via a series of rock-cut steps, were built for the safety of traders moving from Nashik to Kalyan. Today, the ruins of these forts are a major attraction for trekking enthusiasts from Mumbai and Pune. From the summits, one can grab far reaching views of the surrounding area, spotting the Kalsubai peak and the Ratangad fort as well.
