Trekking
This is a paragraph with little content.

This is another small paragraph.

  • Trip introduction

The trek to Andharban takes you into the deep mystical forests of the Western Ghats. This forest has such thick tree cover that the trek trail receives hardly any sunlight, which is why it is called Andharban ('andhar' means dark). The Andharban trek winds through dense forests of high rising trees, and is interspersed with waterfalls and natural pools that you'll be taking a dip in. It's also home to exotic birds and rare butterflies. It offers you spectacular views of the Kundalika Valley and ends at Bhira Dam.

    Destination

Located within the Tamhini ghat of the Western Ghats in Maharashtra, the Andharban trek takes you through a plethora of locations, from winding across mountain ridges to descending into the valley, and emerging at Bhira Dam. This is one of the few treks in Maharashtra that is entirely downhill, and is a fun change from the uphill climb. However, the slope is usually covered in moss, and has water gushing down, so you'll have to be careful.

    Destination highlights

    • Enjoy the thrill of trekking in a dim forest.
    • Navigate a downhill trail that is slippery and full of challenges.
    • Watch out for rare butterflies that live in the forest.
