  • Trip introduction

The Andharban trek is a gorgeous adventure that takes you deep into the lush green forests of the Sahyadris. Known for its thick tree cover that even in brightest time of the day no sunlight can penetrate through the tree tops, which is from where this trek ‘Andhar’ (meaning darkness) derives its name.

Besides catching breathtaking views of flowing waterfalls, exotic birds and butterflies, you’ll also catch sight of the Kundalika Valley and Bhira Dam.

Taking place on a scenic path, this trek is non-strenuous and ideal for city dwellers to enjoy some time away from the traffic and retreat into nature’s peaceful regions.

    Destination

Situated within the Sahyadris of Maharashtra, the Andharban Forest lies within the Tamhini Ghat. During this trek, you’ll travel through a number of beautiful locations, winding roads and perhaps even some moss covered slippery slopes. While you’ll mainly have a downhill trek, at one point you’ll embark on a short ascent.
