  • Trip introduction

    Explore the deep, dark, wilderness of the Western Ghats on this trek to Andharban. You'll be picked up from Dadar, Mumbai and drive to the Pimpri Dam. At the break of dawn, you'll begin trekking through dense forests and arrive at the Bhira Dam by evening. En route, you'll stop to rest near river streams and waterfalls that flow through Andharban. Don't forget your trekking shoes, since the trail takes you down a descending route with plenty of slippery rocks and boulders.

    The trek to Andharban will take you on a relatively easy route, making it perfect for fit beginners as well as experienced trekkers.

    NOTE: Lunch is not included in this package. Travellers are requested to carry their own packed lunch.

    Destination

    Located near the Tamhini Ghat in the Sahyadri mountains, the forests of Andharban make for one of the best trekking destinations, especially in the months of monsoon. As the rain water cascades down from higher mountains, the Andharban forests begin flourishing with a unique eco-system of plants, birds and animals. Literally meaning 'the dark forest', Andharban's thick jungles are known to cloud out the sun even during the day!

    Rules on the trip

    Travellers are required to adhere to the instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Andharban.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trip.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Cancellation policy

    For cancellations made more than 6 days before departure of the Andharban trek: 70% refund.

    For cancellations made 4-6 days before departure of the Andharban trek: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made 2-3 days before departure of the Andharban trek: 30% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 2 days before departure of the Andharban trek: No refund.

    No show: No refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting any transaction charges.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    The tour operator reserves the right to cancel or alter the itinerary of the trek to Andharban to maximize the safety of travellers as well as staff.

    Travellers will be required to bear any additional costs arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, road blocks etc.

  • Day 1 of the trek to Andharban: Depart from Mumbai

    Arrive at the Pritam Da Dhaba in Dadar (East) by 22:30 hrs. You'll board private, shared vehicles and begin a 5-6 hr drive to the start point of this trek.

    Day 2 of the trek to Andharban: Trek from Pimpri to Bhira

    Arrive at the base village near the start point of the trek. You'll wait for the break of dawn. Take a nap in the vehicle or interact with your fellow trekkers. As the sun begins to rise, you'll have breakfast with tea over a short briefing session. Begin trekking in the morning and make your way through the thick jungles of Andharban.

    You'll take a short break around noon to eat a packed lunch that you'll have to bring yourself. Resume trekking, you'll arrive at the end point of the trek near Bhira Dam by late afternoon. Take some time to rest after the trek and board vehicles back to Dadar. Subject to traffic conditions, you'll arrive at Dadar by 21:00 hrs.

    Your trip begins from Pritam Da Dhaba in Dadar (East) at 22:30 hrs. No meals are provided today, so make sure to eat dinner before reporting at the pick-up point.

    Day 2 of the trek to Andharban: Trek from Pimpri to Bhira

    Your trip ends before nightfall.

    Today's meal package includes breakfast served before beginning the trek. Since lunch is not included in the trip, travellers are requested to carry a packed lunch. The trip ends as you travel back to Dadar by 21:00 hrs.
