The Annapurna Massif, located in the Himalayas of north-central Nepal, is a group of mountains, including the world's tenth highest mountain: Annapurna I. This trek takes you to the base camp of the massif, which is popular for being a snowy amphitheatre of grand mountain peaks and cerulean glaciers.
The massif is located within the Annapurna Wildlife Sanctuary, which is considered as one of the most beautiful sanctuaries of the world. It protects not only the flourishing flora and fauna but also the rich cultural heritage and exotic traditions of the villages within it. It is also home to numerous rare animals, including the elusive snow leopard.
Due to its proximity to Kathmandu and a moderately easy trail which is more or less flat, the trek to the Annapurna Base Camp has become one of the most popular treks in the world.
