• Trip introduction

This 3-day Beaskund trek is one of the most sought-after treks in the Himachal region, because it is easy, starts close to Manali, and takes you up to a gorgeous glacial lake in the middle of the mountains. The lake is the spot from where the Beas river originates, and is said to be the spot where the Rishi Beas visited to bathe and meditate. On this trek, you'll walk past rumbling glaciers, through meadows dotted with wildflowers, and up to a crescent-shaped area surrounded by mountains.

The trek to the ancient lake of Beaskund begins at Solang Nala, where you'll drive past the famous Solang Valley, which is a hub for adventure activities like skiing and paragliding. You'll start trekking from Dhundi, where the views are already stunning. You'll pass pine forests, and see towering snowy mountains in the distance. From Bakarthach, your campsite for two nights, you'll get sprawling views of the valley you just walked through, and will see Shitidhar peak and Deo tibba peak, as well as glaciers in the distance. Towards the top, the landscape is filled with boulders and sparkling streams that you'll be crossing. It's a gorgeous trek, so don't forget to take your camera!
