Trekking
This is a paragraph with little content.

This is another small paragraph.

  • Trip introduction

The Bhimashankar trek is one of the best treks in the Sahyadris, and on this route, it's even better! You'll ascend via Shidi Ghat and descend through Ganesh Ghat, so there's always plenty to see. This trek offers the complete Sahyadris experience, especially in the monsoon. You'll see secret waterfalls, rain-drenched forests, ancient temples, deserted ruins, exotic flowers, and lots more.

The trek is a fairly tough one, so make sure you're up for the challenge. It starts out with an easy walk, but graduates to steep slopes that can be slippery when mossy. In some sections, the trail is washed away, and you'll have to negotiate several tricky patches. At night, you'll sleep in dorms with your team, and you'll spend the rest of your time in the great outdoors.

    Destination

Bhimashankar is the source of the Bhima river, and lies close to Pune, in the midst of the green valleys of the Sahyadris. The fort itself stands tall at over 3000 feet, offering spectacular views of the region around. There are fascinating ancient temples and structures along this route, dating back to the mid-18th century.

    Destination highlights

    • Watch out for the giant squirrel, the state animal of Maharashtra
    • Visit ancient temples and historic landmarks
    • Enjoy the varying sights of two different routes on this trek
    • Sleep in dormitories for a complete group experience
