  • Trip introduction

    The Bhimashankar trek is one of the most popular treks in Maharashtra, and is every trekker's dream trek. It's a long, challenging route that takes you over a massive mountain with waterfalls cascading down from slopes. There is a famous Shiva temple at the top, which is one of the Jyotirlingas from the 12 Jyotirlingas in India.


    Located at a soaring height of 3500 feet, the Bhimashankar trek combines a visit to the famous Bhimashankar temple. You will begin your journey from the Karjat station, from where you will be transported to the Khandas Village. In the monsoon, this trek is lush green, and rain water gushes down the path you're trekking along.

    Rules on the trip

    Smoking cigarettes, chewing tobacco or consuming alcohol is strictly prohibited on the Bhimashankar trek.

    You must stick with your group at all times.

    No damage should be inflicted on monuments or natural environments.

    You must adhere to the instructions of the trek leader at all times.

    Taking photos or selfie near the edges are not allowed.

    Participants are requested to carry trash back to the city and dispose of it in dustbins.

    Cancellation policy

    If cancellation is done 10 days or more before the start of the Bhimashankar monsoon trek: 75% will be refunded.

    If cancellation is done 5-10 days prior to the start of the Bhimashankar monsoon trek: 50% will be refunded.

    If the cancellation is done 0-5 days before the start of the Bhimashankar monsoon trek: No refund.

    No show: No refund.

    If you wish to transfer your booking to someone else, or reschedule to another date, the cancellation policy will apply, and only the applicable refund amount will be transferred or rescheduled.

    In case of injury, damage to self or property or death, Travel Trikon cannot be held responsible.

    The Bhimashankar trek is arranged considering normal weather. In case of cancellation of any event due to reasons beyond control such as natural calamities, riots, political uncertainty, public transport failure etc, refund shall be payable with respect to the given to refund policy.

    There will be no refunds or discounts given for services unused or missed due to traveller's own fault, negligence or breach of terms.

  • Day 1 of the Bhimashankar monsoon trek: Karjat to Bhimashankar top

    Assemble at the Karjat station at 08:05 hrs, from where you will be transported to the base village of Khandas, with a delicious breakfast awaiting you. After this, you begin your trek through Shidi Ghat, with a single stop for lunch. By 15:00 hrs, you'll reach the top, where you'll get views of the mountains around, as well as a chance to explore caves and the temple. After a filling dinner, you'll spend the night at a dharamshala at the top of this gorgeous location.

    Day 2 of the Bhimashankar monsoon trek: Bhimashankar top to Karjat

    Wake up by 06:00 hrs, and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Freshen up and start descending to the base village of Khandas via the Ganesh Ghat. Midway, you'll stop for lunch. Reach Khandas by 16:00 hrs, where you'll be transported to the Karjat station. Catch your train from Karjat to Mumbai, expecting to reach by 21:00 hrs. Your trip ends here.

    Day 2 of the Bhimashankar monsoon trek: Bhimashankar top to Karjat

    Your trip ends before nightfall.

    Today's package includes vegetarian meals of breakfast and lunch. It is advisable that you carry dry snacks such as energy bars or dry fruits to munch on during your journey. You'll be dropped off at Mumbai by late evening.
