• Trip introduction

The mountains of Himachal Pradesh are peppered with scenic routes that make for some of the best treks in India, and the Bhrigu Lake trek is easily one of the most picturesque treks in that bouquet. This 4-day itinerary for the Bhrigu Lake trek takes you on an enchanting hike through apple orchards and pine forests of Himachal. After a day spent trekking on a moderately intense trail, you'll spend the night in alpine tents pitched at scenic locations in the forest. As you approach the Lake, the greenery begins thinning out and you'll catch your first glimpse of the gorgeous blue water, sparkling in the sunshine.

This short trek in Himachal Pradesh takes you to a mountain ridge near Manali to visit the idyllic Bhrigu Lake. Located at an altitude of over 14,000 feet in the Kullu Valley, the lake is named after Maharishi Bhrigu, an important sage in Hindu philosophy. While the trek is open for most of the year, travellers prefer to visit the lake in the months of August and September.
