• Trip introduction

The trek to Bhrigu Lake is one of the prettiest grassland treks in the Himalayas. Since this trek is a bit physically taxing, acclimatizing in Manali on the first day will help you reach the Bhrigu Lake without much difficulty. You will be trekking through the wide stretches of verdant meadows, cross rivulets along the way, ascend along the rocky trails and enjoy the views of snowy Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar mountain ranges. In winter, the trail to Bhrigu Lake is filled with thick snow, which makes the entire climb moderately difficult.

Please note that the trek to Bhrigu Lake is a moderately difficult adventure and suitable for fit beginners.

Perched at the altitude of 14,000 feet, Bhrigu Lake is a gorgeous alpine lake located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. Legend says that Maharishi Bhrigu used to meditate at the banks of Bhrigu Lake; which is why the lake has been rendered sacred. Also, the locals believe it to be one of the reasons why the lake never freezes completely during winter. After the monsoon, the lake is surrounded by verdant meadows and wildflowers, while in winter it is completely carpeted with thick snow. From the lake, you can see the Hanuman Tibba, Ladakhi and Shitidar mountains.
