Bhrigu Lake Trek

Reach the enchanting Bhrigu Lake perched at the altitude of 14,000 ft on the second day of your climb. The trek to Bhrigu Lake is the prettiest grassland trek in Himachal Pradesh. You will be ascending through the undulating and wide stretches of flourishing meadows with the setting of snow-clad Himayalan ranges of Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar. This trail of this trek takes you through an unconventional route via Mori Thatch, as the route is far less crowded and thus cleaner, and also more beautiful than the regular one. During winter, the trail is carpeted with thick snow which makes the ascend more challenging but a fun adventure.

The trek to the glacial Bhrigu Lake is an easy trek which is suitable for first-timers as well.

Bhrigu Lake is an alpine lake resting at the altitude of 14,000 feet in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It lies to the east of the Rohtang Pass and is a short drive from Manali. Legend has it that Maharishi Bhrigu used to meditate near this enchanting Bhrigu Lake which is why the lake has been rendered sacred. Also, the locals believe it to be one of the reasons why the lake never freezes completely during winter. Post-monsoon, the lake is surrounded by meadows and wildflowers and the trail is flourishing with greenery. Soon after you start trekking, you will be greeted with the views of Hanuman Tibba, Ladakhi and Shitidar mountains.
