Kamshet Paragliding guide

Kamshet, primarily a part of the Pune district, is situated on the magnificent Western Ghats, between Pune and Mumbai. Housing several traditional-styled villages, Kamshet attracts a lot of paragliding enthusiasts every year. High altitude, favorable winds, and experienced guides make Kamshet a perfect paragliding spot in Maharashtra.

How to reach Kamshet:

Kamshet is just 45 km (around 1.5 hrs.) away from Pune city, and traveling by road is the best and direct option. Local train from Pune to Kamshet is also available. From Mumbai, Kamshet is at a distance of about 100 km. It takes roughly 2.5-3 hours to travel. You can either hit the road or catch the local train.

In case you have already set up your base at  Lonavala or Khandala, Kamshet is merely 30 min away, by road or by train.

Kamshet paragliding best time

Kamshet is open for paragliding from October to May. Monsoons, naturally, are unfavorable for paragliding, and hence, the activity is closed during the rainy season. The mid-late winters and summers thus offer the best time for paragliding in Kamshet.

Typically, in a day, there are two paragliding sessions. One for the early birds at 8 am, and one in the afternoon, post 2 pm. You can choose the one that suits you the best and plan your trip accordingly.
