If you’ve got some time off planned in the next two months, check out our list of top summer tour packages for 2020. These big adventures are designed for everyone, so you don’t need any special gear or training – just a brave traveller’s soul.
ROADTRIPPIN’ IN LADAKH:
While the temperatures drop to well below zero in the winter, summers in Ladakh are perfect. The days are warm and clear, and nights get pleasant, or even cold. You’ll get great views all around, thanks to the cloudless skies of Ladakh, and photographers will love the starry skies at night. The landscape of Ladakh, stark and sprawling, dotted with monasteries and charming villages, is the perfect escape from the urban jungles we live in.
If you go to Ladakh, you’ll get to explore ancient monasteries, ramble through the colourful Leh market, and visit the most important landmarks here. You can do Leh-Ladakh biking trips, go rafting on the Zanskar, or choose SUV roadtrip packages to see up-close this dramatic terrain.
MOTORBIKING IN LADAKH:
The motorbiking routes in Ladakh are on the To-Do list of every biking enthusiast, in India and around the world. The endless horizons, the empty roads, the wide-open spaces and the shimmering lakes to camp beside – it’s a biker’s paradise out here! These motorbiking summer tour packages are created in various lengths and budgets so that there’s something for everyone.
All itineraries include visits to the main landmarks and monasteries, depending on the time you have, but the focus is on the riding experience and the challenge of the terrain. Look for specialty packages that include rare locations like Turtuk, the last Indian village before the Pakistan border, or the itinerary that takes you from Spiti to Ladakh.
SUMMER IN THE ANDAMANS:
If summer is making you yearn for the cool blue ocean, these Andamans summer tour packages for 2020 are just the thing. White sand beaches, swaying coconut palms, laid-back island vibes, delicious meals, and gorgeous sunsets – the perfect setting for your summer holiday! The days are balmy, with a tropical summer feel, and the nights are warm too (you’ll be glad you booked A/C room), but it’s the perfect weather for all kinds of beach fun and underwater adventures.
Scuba diving in the Andamans is the best activity here. The visibility is great in the summers, and you’ll get to see bright coral reefs and vivid marine life. Scuba diving courses require you to know how to swim, but if you can’t swim, choose a Try Dive instead. You can also do snorkelling, sea walking, kayaking, glass bottom boats, parasailing, and more.
SUMMER IN THE HIMALAYAS:
Head up to the mountains for a respite from the heat and from city life. With these summer trekking packages, you’ll spend your days hiking through pine forests, camping by cool lakes and sparkling streams, amidst towering peaks. It’s a lovely way to spend a few days in summer.
Kareri Lake trek, Himachal Pradesh: The Kareri Lake trek takes you to a shallow freshwater lake near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. The clear water of the lake, created by glacial melt, offers perfect reflections of the peaks around. The lake lies at an altitude of about 9600 feet, which means you’ll get gorgeous views of the Dhauladhar mountains. The trek is not too challenging, and can be done in 3-4 days, making it a good summer trek for beginners.
