One of the best snow treks in the Himalayas, the Brahmatal trek takes you to the two high-altitude lakes of Bekaltal and Brahmatal. You'll make your way across mountain slopes, with overgrown woods of oak and rhododendron, and climb up to altitudes of over 12,000 feet. En route, you'll pass small villages like Malling and Burali, with terraced farms and flocks of sheep grazing over green grasslands.
In the winter, the landscape gets blanketed with fresh, white snow, offering magnificent views of icy vistas all around. Trekking through the soft snow, you'll get views of snow-stormed mountain peaks of Nanda Ghunti, Trishul and many more.
Destination
The Brahmatal Lake is a fresh-water lake in Uttarakhand fed by the melting glaciers and snowfalls of the Himalayas. The lake is located a short distance away from the Brahmatal summit, a mountain peak with an elevation of over 12,000 feet, allowing views of towering mountains of the Nanda Devi National Park on the horizon.
