Traveling by road to Rishikesh is also an option worth exploring. There is an excellent bus network connecting it with many places across India. Buses depart in the morning and evening. You have the option of a deluxe, regular or luxury coach. You can drive up to Rishikesh through NH 58 as well.
The nearest railway station for RIshikesh is Haridwar. The station is connected to all major parts of the country via its extensive train network. From Haridwar, you can choose to take a taxi or bus to continue with your journey towards Rishikesh.
For the bungee jump, it is recommended that you wear clothing that is comfortable and doesn't restrict your movement in any manner. This will allow you to have the ideal bungee jumping experience.
Do not wear shorts, jeans or pants are most suited for this adventure activity. Open footwear such as sandals and slip-on shoes are also not permitted. Wear sports shoes or any other form of closed shoes.
Those wearing saris and skirts might also not be allowed on the platform for the jump. Any item that you wear around your neck (eg. corded sunglasses) must be removed in preparation for the jump. You are not to have anything on your person prior to the jump, so all expensive jewellery and electronics, wearable and otherwise are not allowed.
Carry a small backpack to hold your personal essentials, bottles of water, some snacks and energy bars. Carry warm layers for the chill that sets in during the early morning and late evening and a change of clothes. Pack sunscreen, sunglasses, a cap and insect repellent to protect yourself from mosquito bites.
The only thing you can choose to carry is water and some light snacks because the waiting can sometimes extend to a few hours. Do not carry any electronic equipment including but not limited to phones, cameras and any other personal items to the platform. You are strictly not permitted to have anything on your person before the leap.
The fitness preparation required depends on whether the trek near Lonavala you choose is graded easy or challenging. Some treks like the Lohagad Fort trek is easy and is even a great experience for families with children. However, treks like Rajmachi and Torna requires prior trekking experience. You can prepare for such treks by undertaking a regime of endurance increasing exercises.
Do note however, that as a pre-jump precaution, if a jumper seems intoxicated in any manner or not in the condition to jump, they will be barred. This is non-negotiable and non-refundable
Also, if you have any muscle injuries, especially confined to the neck or the back or high blood pressure, neurological diseases you cannot be a part of the activity. Pregnant women are also not permitted to jump. For any other prevailing medical conditions, it is always best to consult your physician before considering this daring leap.
