Located at a height of 14,108 feet, this high pass is found in the upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh. With Manali as the starting point of the trek, your route passes through Jobra, Chikha and Balu ka Ghera before reaching the main destination which is Hampta Pass itself. Walk through meadows and thick oak and cedar-scented forests, followed by some tricky ice-covered trails that require careful negotiating. You'll find yourself going through gushing rivers one day, while trekking across deserted hilly regions the next. You’ll end on a high note at your gorgeous campsite alongside Chandra Tal, a lake with cool mountain water that will tempt you to dip your toes in!
