Pangong Lake, a high-altitude lake at an elevation of 14,270 feet, is an elongated lake, parts of which cross international borders, extending the lake into Tibet. The lake is home to a few migratory birds such as the bar-headed goose and the Brahmini ducks. The lake is known for its multi-coloured waters, an illusion caused by the sun shining over the high-altitude lake and towering mountains reflecting over the still waters.
