  • Trip introduction

A must-visit for every traveller to Ladakh, the Pangong Lake is the best place to catch panoramic views of the snow desert's varied landscapes. The barren, brown mountains that flank the lake offer mesmerizing views that really capture the attention of travellers. An overnight stay at the lake makes for a great experience, as you lose yourself in the beauty of a star-studded sky in the night and in the beauty of the morning sun shining on the high-altitude lake in the morning.

NOTE: Travellers are required to obtain a Ladakh Inner Line Permit before travelling to Pangong Lake. The permit can be obtained from the District Commissioner's office at Leh, which typically takes two to three days to process your documents and issue a permit.

    Destination

Pangong Lake, a high-altitude lake at an elevation of 14,270 feet, is an elongated lake, parts of which cross international borders, extending the lake into Tibet. The lake is home to a few migratory birds such as the bar-headed goose and the Brahmini ducks. The lake is known for its multi-coloured waters, an illusion caused by the sun shining over the high-altitude lake and towering mountains reflecting over the still waters.

On this camping trip to Pangong Lake, you'll stay in deluxe tents with attached washrooms. The tent will be equipped with a mattress and bedding. A common kitchen/dining tent can serve vegetarian dinner and breakfast.
