    Traverse Malshej Ghat, the most gorgeous mountain pass near Mumbai and Pune, and visit Pimpalgaon Joga Dam for lakeside camping.

    Spend a night amidst the Western Ghats of Maharashtra and stay in tents beside the wide lake. You can also go boating on the lake or play fun games at the campsite. In the evening, sit before the cozy bonfire and feast on a sizzling barbeque and peppery Maharashtrian cuisines.

    Malshej Ghat is one of the prettiest mountain passes in the Western Ghats that soars to an altitude of 2250 feet. It is the most popular pass among riders from Mumbai and Pune. The whole area of the Ghat is blessed with rich biodiversity and is a great place for bird watching.

    The campsite is located near Pimpalgaon Joga Dam. You will be staying in alpine tents on a sharing basis depending on your group size. Mattresses, blankets and pillows will be provided to you for comfort.

  • Malshej Ghat Camping Day 1: Explore the campsite

    Board the Kalyan local starting from CST at 09:05 hours today. Meet up with the operator at Kalyan and set off on a journey to the Malshej Ghat campsite using local transport.

    Snacks will be served to you on arrival, after which you can boating on the lake. After sunset, the bonfire will be set up and hot BBQ will be served to you. Post dinner, stargaze the clear the sky and retire in your tents for the night.

    Arrive at the campsite by 15:00 hours. Some snacks will be served to you on arrival. In the evening, hot BBQ will be offered to you. Your meal package also includes a fresh Dinner. | Tonight, you will be staying in tents on twin/triple sharing basis. Mattresses, blankets and pillows will be provided for your comfort.

    For cancellations made 8 days or more before departure of this Malshej Ghat camping trip: 75% refund.

    For cancellations made 4-7 days before departure of this Malshej Ghat camping trip: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 4 days before departure of this Malshej Ghat camping trip: no refund.

    In case of no show: no refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to follow instructions of the camp leader during the camping trip.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Please board the Kalyan local departing from CST at 09:05 hours. You will miss the trip if you do not arrive at Kalyan on time. No refund will be provided in such cases.

    The trip cost will be different for travellers arriving at the campsite directly.

    Check-in time at the campsite is 15:00 hrs and check-out time at the campsite is 11:00 hrs.

    The tour operator reserves the right to modify or cancel this Malshej Ghat camping trip. Costs arising due to such changes shall be borne by the traveller.

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap or accident during the Malshej Ghat camping trip.
