New Year Camping at Shirota Lake, Lonavala

Spend New Year's Eve at a lakeside campsite, enjoying the cold night air and the stars above. You'll enjoy a day of outdoorsy fun, swimming in the lake, walking through green landscape, and end with a merry bonfire, a few drinks, and an evening of music.

Your campsite lies in the midst of nature, just 10 kms away from Lonavala, but far enough to give you peace and quiet. It's right alongside Shirota Lake, so you'll have gorgeous views at any time of the day. In the winter, this location gives you a chance to experience a chilly night around a merry campfire and wake up to mist that stretches into the horizon.

You'll camp in weather-proof tents with foam mats, blankets and pillows, to ensure you get a good night's sleep, with comfort facilities like dry toilet tents with Western commodes. You can go for a trek nearby, explore a few of the viewpoints, relax by the fire with friends, and enjoy a couple of days outdoors.

IMPORTANT: You cannot drive up to this campsite, whether you have an SUV or a sedan. You can either trek the 10 kms stretch through a jungle to the campsite, if your group is up to it, or you can rent a Tata Sumo at an additional charge of INR 900 per Sumo (one way cost) that will seat 7 people.

The campsite is located at an elevation from Lonavala, giving you views of the hills around, the valley, the lake nearby, and wide open skies. in the night, it can get quite chilly here. Your camping experience includes all the fun of being in the outdoors, with basic conveniences like sealed tents to keep insects out, sleeping mattresses, clean dry toilet tents, delicious meals, and a bonfire and barbecue at night.

You can check in any time after 16:30 hrs. Once you've settled into your tents and had a hot cup of tea, you can set off to explore the surroundings on a short jungle trek. Get back to your campsite in time for a beautiful sunset over the lake. After that, as it grows dark, a bonfire is lit, and you and your loved ones can relax and enjoy the chilly night air and the delicious barbecue with a few drinks. Enjoy a delicious dinner, celebrate the arrival of the new year, and then retire to your cosy tents for the night.

Overnight in tents

You'll stay at a well-maintained campsite that lies along Shirota lake. Your tents are equipped with mattresses, blankets and pillows, as well as a solar light. The campsite has dry toilet tents with water and commode seats. For barbecue, you can choose a vegetarian or non-vegetarian option. In the evening, you'll have a delightful music session, and end with a vegetarian pasta and dessert. After that, you can celebrate the arrival of 2017 under the stars. Overnight in tents.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations made 5 days before the booking date will receive 30% of the booking cost.

For cancellations closer to the date, there are no refunds.

Rules on trip

Please avoid the consumption of any narcotic/ psychotropic substances during the tour. Any participant found doing so will be requested to make arrangements to return back to their home at their personal cost.

Participants must refrain from littering and defacing their surroundings.

Guests accompanied by their drivers will have to pay separately for the driver charges in advance.

Pets are not allowed at the campsite.

Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

All decisions made by the operator are final.

No refund will be permitted if the trip is shortened or cancelled due to reasons beyond the control of Letscampout. These include climatic conditions, governmental / quasi-governmental policies, mechanical and human error in hired vehicles, etc.

Children under 5 years stay for free. Children aged 6-10 stay for half price. Children aged 10 and above are charged full price.
