    Head out to Vaitarna where a calm lakeside campsite awaits. You'll get to the campsite in time to watch the sun setting, and can relax and watch the views. As dusk falls, your stargazing session begins. A telescope is provided, and you'll share it while listening to an expert discuss the intricacies of astronomy. After dinner and a late night around the campfire, you'll head to sleep in tents.

    In the morning, you'll wake up to a misty lake surrounded by the hills. After a hot breakfast, you'll pack up and head back to Mumbai.

    NOTE: There is a short hike of about 15 mins to get to the campsite.

    Destination

    The Vaitarna river is located north of the city of Mumbai and flows close to the border of Gujarat. The reservoir or lake formed by the river is close to Igatpuri, and offers gorgeous views. It is a serene location, far from the city, surrounded by only mountains, greenery, and a couple of small villages.

    Stargazing here is a fun activity. Far away from the light pollution of the city, the skies are clear and the stars twinkle brightly.

  • Day 1 of camping at Vaitarna

    Meet the operator at Dadar by 11:30 hrs and board the vehicle to the campsite. You'll stop en route at a dhaba in Kasara for lunch (not included in package), and from here, you'll proceed to the campsite. You should reach the campsite by 16:00 hrs, where you'll be welcomed with a non-alcoholic drink. Take in the stunning views at this gorgeous riverside campsite and watch the setting sun melt into the lake.

    A bonfire is lit, and you'll start the stargazing session. An expert will guide you through the session. After dinner, you can retire to your tent for the night, or sit up to enjoy the cool night breeze.

    Overnight in tents.

    You'll meet at 11:30 hrs and will be driven from Dadar to the riverside campsite in Vaitarna. You'll halt en route at Kasara for lunch (not included in package). At the campsite, you'll be served a non-alcoholic welcome drink, as well as evening snacks and dinner. Both veg and non-veg options are available. Triple-sharing tents are provided, and a temporary toilet facility is available. You will have to bring your own bedding.

  • Cancellation policy

    The cancellation policy is as follows:

    Cancellations made 0-7 days before departure of the camping trip at Vaitarna: No refund, even if you have booked 0-7 days before departure.

    Cancellations made 8-15 days before departure of the camping trip at Vaitarna: 50% of the trip cost will be refunded.

    Cancellations made 16-21 days before departure of the camping trip at Vaitarna: 75% of the trip cost will be refunded.

    Cancellations made 21 days or more before departure of the camping trip at Vaitarna: Total trip cost will be refunded.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting any transaction charges.

    Rules on trip

    Carrying illegal substances, drugs or alcohol is not permitted on this camping trip at Vaitarna.

    Participants must adhere to the instructions of the guide at all times.

    Littering is not allowed while on tour and all participants must carry their trash back to the city.

    All participants must stick together in a group at all times. It is not possible to customize the start and end time.

    Abusive language or misconduct with other travellers will not be tolerated during the camping trip at Vaitarna.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    The participants must inform the operator about any illnesses or medical conditions.

    The operator is not liable for any additional costs incurred due to road blocks, weather delays, illness or injury, or any other unforeseeable events.

    The operator has the final decision and can cancel or reschedule the camping at Vaitarna if it is deemed necessary.

    The operator is not responsible for any accidents, mishaps, death or injury during the camping trip at Vaitarna.

    Participants are responsible for their own belongings and the operator will not be liable for any loss or damage during the camping trip at Vaitarna.

    There is a basic washroom facility available at the campsite with Indian toilet fittings.
