You can reach Haridwar by road or rail, as it is connected to most major hubs in India. You can also fly to Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) which is 41 kms away.
This trip is a combination of utter beauty, adrenaline-inducing peak climbing, and gorgeous lakeside camping. You'll visit the lush hills of Chopta, also known as the Switzerland of India. Here, you'll walk through wide open meadows and pine forests. As your adventure continues, you'll also stop at Tungnath Temple, which is the highest Shiva temple in the world. You'll also visit the Deoriatal lake, where you'll camp for the night, and go on to Chandrashila Peak, a smaller peak of the Garhwal range. This climb, while not long, is steep, and gives you great views from the top.
This trek takes you high up into the Garhwal Himalayas, making it one of the best treks for fit beginners looking for a bit of a challenge. During the winter, you can expect snowy vistas all around, and some amount of trekking in the snow, especially at Chandrashila. In the summer and spring months, there are wildflowers blooming along the trails, rhododendron trees in full blossom, and beautiful snow-capped peaks in the distance.

You'll be picked up at Haridwar Railway Station at 6:00 hrs, and will begin your drive to Sari. It's a beautiful drive, taking you past Rudraprayag and Devprayag, so you can expect views of the river all along. At Sari, you can take a leisurely stroll around the village to end the evening. Overnight in a guesthouse or tents at Sari.
Overnight in Sari
You'll arrive at Sari by late afternoon or early evening. Depending on availability, you might be sleeping at a guesthouse, or camping in tents on triple sharing basis. You'll be provided with sleeping bags, mattresses, kitchen and toilet tents, and all camping gear if you're camping tonight. Today's package includes only dinner.
