Then you switch to the present, and hop off your bikes to catch the uber efficient Delhi Metro train, and take a rickshaw ride. You’ll end at the Tibetan Colony (also known as Little Lhasa), with a delicious breakfast here.
The seventeenth-century city of Shahjahanabad (also known as the Walled City), built for the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, is known as Old Delhi. Construction began in 1638, and within eleven years it was complete with fourteen main gates.
This area is now mostly in ruins, and is home to bustling marketplaces and densely populated residential areas. But with a flip of a switch, you’ll be witnessing the more modern aspects of the city.
