Take a cycling trip through time, through the Delhi that belonged to sufi saints, rebels, English ladies, poets and refugees. You'll explore historic tombs and landmarks, all set against the upscale South Delhi neighbourhood. Starting in the over-700-year-old settlement of Nizamuddin, this 15-kms long tour winds its way through the 21st century concrete jungle and flashy lights of South Delhi to show you a city alive in unimaginable fragments. You'll end the trip with a picnic in the lush green landscape of the iconic Lodhi garden.
Your tour package includes 2 English/Hindi speaking guides for a group. The main guide cycles in the first position, the client in-between and one co-guide in the last position to ensure nobody is left behind.
For each tour, the maximum size is usually 9 participants in one group, to ensure you receive full attention. If your group is of a bigger size, it may be split into 2, 3 or more sub groups, and still conducted on the same day.
IMPORTANT: This trip runs from 06:15-10:00 hrs or 13:15-17:00 hrs (Oct-Apr only).
Historically, religiously, socially, the Nizamuddin tour has it all! Nizamuddin, named after the famous Sufi saint, is an urban village right in the heart of Delhi. Together with the magnificent Humayun's Tomb and beautiful Lodhi Garden, the Nizamuddin tour reflects the periods when Delhi was ruled by the Sultans, Mughals and British, before India went on to win independence in 1947. The Nizamuddin tour is a great learning opportunity to understand how Delhi was shaped into the mega city as we know it today. Combined with the spiritual soul of Nizamuddin, this tour is food for mind and body.
