  • Trip introduction

    If you've done a few treks around Maharashtra, you're ready for the Kohoj experience! The route can be too long for some, taking 2 hours to reach the plateau, and there is further to go from here. However, because of this, you can expect some spectacular views from the top.

    One of the best views (and photo opportunities) is the reflection of the fort in the lake at the base. Make sure to try and catch this.

    At the top, there are multiple cisterns to explore, a couple of temples, a bastion, and more. You'll love the fascinating land features at the top of the fort. The strong winds have eroded the rocks over time creating pinnacles and rock formations that are very tempting to explore.

    The trip includes a vegetarian breakfast.


    This fort has had multiple rulers, the most notable being the Mughals and the Marathas, adding to its historical importance and the architectural remnants at the top. Unfortunately, most of these ruins are badly maintained, but it shows you how ancient the fort actually is.

    From the top, you can get spectacular views of other forts like Takmak, Tandulwadi, Asherigad and more.

    If cancellation is done in less than 5 days to departure date or in case of a No show : No refund.

    It is mandatory that you visit your personal physician before enrolling for the trip if you suffer from any illness of any kind and disclose the same and your medical history to the organizers of the trip.

    In case of accidents, the operator will arrange for the injured patron to be taken to the nearest medical hospital wherever possible. The medical expenses will have to be borne by the patrons themselves.

  • Trek to Kohoj Fort

    After a quick breakfast at Palghar station, you'll head to the base village, Vaghote. Your trek begins at the lake here, and goes up into the green canopy n the lower stretches of the trek. You'll stop at the plateau for a lunch break, and then head up to the summit after that. You have some time to explore your surroundings, before beginning your descent again. You'll return to Palghar station after that. Trip ends here.
