  • Trip introduction

    This day trek from Manali is a perfect adventure for those already in Manali and looking for something fun to do. It’s an off-the-beaten-path trip that takes you up into Halan, which has a tiny population of only about 300 people. With the traditional Kath Kuni architecture of the houses, as well as the local woollen outfits of the people, you’ll feel like time has stopped here. It’s a pleasant trek of about 4-5 hours, and you’ll be back in Manali before the day is over.

    IMPORTANT: To book this trip, you need a minimum of 4 persons.


    The ancient village of Halan is located at 6100 feet above sea level, and gives you some of the best views in the area. The village has a rich cultural background, which has been preserved through the years. The old wood and stone houses are fascinating, and the people are friendly. En route to the village, you’ll pass picturesque landscape and views of the mighty mountains.

    This is a day trek, but it will take you up to an altitude of over 6000 feet. If you have asthma or respiratory problems, heart conditions, or knee or spine issues, please consult your doctor before booking.

    Cancellations more than 5 days before departure: Full refund (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for hotel bookings, transport, etc.)

    Cancellations 0-4 days before departure: No refund

    You will start from Manali by 08.00 hrs and reach Halan around 10:00 hrs. You start your trek from Halan through the forest along the river side. You will complete your trek in 3-4 hours and reach Manali around 17:00 hrs.
