  • Dayara Bugyal Trek (4 Days)

The Dayara Bugyal is an easy to moderate trek and it makes for the perfect orientation to various other Himalayan treks. Trekking through one of the highest alpine meadows in India, is the perfect boost to energize both the body and soul after hectic city living.

The trek begins from the base village of Raithal, where you gain insight into local life with an overnight homestay visit. From there your trail varies between gradual ascents and easy, flat grasslands. Sitting at over 11,000 feet, this popular trekking route is open year-round (except monsoons) and greets trekkers with different views every season.

Please note that the operator can arrange for transportation from Dehradun at an additional cost of INR 1800 per person.

If you are travelling in a group of 4 or more, you can book any start date for the trip. Please get in touch with The Great Next for assistance.

    Destination

Spread across 28 km, Dayara Bugyal is one of the highest as well as the largest meadow in India. This short and easy trail passes through thick and dense forests, with your path lined with towering oak and rhododendron trees. The forest opens up to vivid green grasslands during the summer, which are popular with sheep herders. In the spring it is sprinkled with bright colorful flowers, while in the winters it is covered under a blanket of fresh snow.

The peaks of Mount Bandarpoonch, Mount Kalanag and the various Gangotri peaks make for a panaromic backdrop bordering the gorgeous Dayara Bugyal.
