This scenic 6-day trek to Dayara Bugyal offers you a wide range of experiences including serene campsites, lush trails, astounding mountain views as well as some insight into the local culture. The trek to Dayara Bugyal is very easy trek but has big payoffs in terms of mountain views. You'll get to explore rolling Himalayan meadows with iconic peaks towering over you, and hang out with local shepherds as they graze their flocks on the sweet grass here.

The Dayara Bugyal trek is a relatively easy route, with just a few steep ascents. It's ideal for first-timers, families, and seasoned trekkers alike.

Destination

The Dayara meadow is one of the most beautiful meadows in the Himalayas, and this trek takes you right into the midst of it. The trek to the meadow itself is very rewarding, with stunning views of peaks like Bandarpoonch, Srikant, and Kala Nag.

You'll be camping at gorgeous spots, with views of craggy peaks and pine forests all around. Depending on the weather and availability, you might even have a chance to experience a homestay. These are usually memorable evenings, with a friendly local family opening their home to welcome you.

You'll be picked up at Dehradun Railway station at 06:00 hrs. From here, you are driven 181 kms to Raithal. It's a 5-6 hour drive, and it takes you along the Bhagirathi river and gives you your first views of the Gangotri Range, Srikanth peak and the Moryana top. You'll stop en route for lunch (not included in package) and can even stop for a quick photo break, if possible. You'll get to Raithal by early afternoon and will check in to a guest house or authentic homestay.

Overnight in guesthouse/homestay.

You'll be picked up in Dehradun in a private shared vehicle and driven to Raithal, from where your trek begins. You'll be staying in a guesthouse or homestay here, on twin sharing basis. You will have comfortable beds to sleep on and clean linens. No meals are provided in today's package, but there are many local joints you can eat in or you can request the home owner to cook you a meal.

Day 1 Milestone

You'll wake up early and eat a good breakfast. After this, you'll begin your trek to Gui. It's a beautiful walk of 3.5 kms on a gradual ascent through a jungle filled with silver and gold oak trees. Your campsite lies in the midst of a forest with quaint village huts close by. The Gangotri Range and the Srikanth peak are clearly visible from the campsite. Once you set up camp, spend the evening relaxing under the beautiful night sky. You stay tonight in tents.

You'll start your trek today. Breakfast is not included, but you'll be provided with lunch and dinner. After a day of trekking, you'll arrive at your campsite in Gui. You'll be staying in twin-sharing tents that have sleeping bags and sleeping mattresses, and will have toilet tents for your convenience. Dinner will be served in a dining tent.

Day 2 Milestone

Rise and shine early in the midst of nature and gear up for another beautiful day of trekking! Today's trek is not too long, only about 3-4 hours of trekking in the mountains. You'll ascend to Barnala, where the serene Barnala Tal lies in a clearing in the forest. The sweeping views from here will take your breath away! After lunch, you can spend the day exploring the area or spend time admiring the views of the peaks around. Overnight in tents.

Day 3 Milestone

It's summit day! You begin your trek to Dayara Top, with the trail going through an alpine forest, and then opening up to vast meadows full of wildflowers. The final stretch of this trek is steep, but it's worth the effort as the views you get from Dayara Top are outstanding! You'll be able to get close-up views of Bandarpoonch, and will be able to see the entire Dodital range in front of you. After a day of fun, you'll return to your campsite. Overnight in tents.

After trekking up to the glorious Dayara Top, return to your cosy tents in Dayara Bugyal. Today's meal package is the same as the previous day, with freshly cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 4 Milestone

Wake up and absorb the last few moments in your beautiful campsite before you pack up camp and begin your descent to Barsu. Your trail will take you past a lovely lake surrounded by old fashioned huts and the Kala Nath temple. You'll reach Barsu, where life is simple and people are friendly. You'll be staying here for the night.

You'll wake up to a hearty breakfast today, and then will trek to Barsu. A packed lunch is served en route. You'll be staying at Barsu. Today's package includes only breakfast and lunch.

Day 5 Milestone

Wake up and enjoy an early morning in Barsu. After that, you'll board vehicles to head back to Dehradun. It's a 7 hour drive, and you'll be in Dehradun by about 16:00 hrs and may proceed onwards. Your Dayara Bugyal trek ends here.

You can choose and pay for your own breakfast today. After that, you'll be driven back to Dehradun. It's a 6-7 hour drive, with a stop for lunch. You'll arrive in Dehradun by about 16:00 hrs. Your Dayara Bugyal trek ends here.

Cancellation policy

The cancellation policy is as follows:

For any cancellations made 24 days or more prior to the departure of the Dayara Bugyal trek: 95% of the total trip cost will be refunded or you can use this amount to book any other trek with the same operator within a year.

For cancellations made between 14-24 days before the departure of the Dayara Bugyal trek: 70% of the total trip cost will be refunded or you can use this amount to book the same trek with any other batch of the same operator within a year.

For any cancellations made between 10-14 days before the departure of the Dayara Bugyal trek: 50% of the total trip cost will be refunded or you can use this amount for the same trek in the same season.

For cancellations made less than 10 days before the departure of the Dayara Bugyal trek: No refund, but you can transfer the same trek to a friend.

All refunds will be processed after deducting any transaction charges incurred.

All cancellations/refunds on this trip will be processed after a deduction of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next and is applicable for all cancellations.

Rules on trip

Participants must adhere to the instructions of the trip leader/guide at all times during the Dayara Bugyal trek.

Consumption of alcoholic beverages/drugs is not permitted while trekking.

The operator reserves the right to change/cancel the plans for the Dayara Bugyal trek without prior notice, if deemed necessary. No arguments or refunds will be entertained.

Any event cost for the Dayara Bugyal trek is exclusive of any kind of insurances or medical coverage/benefits.

Change of trek batch is dependent on the availability of seats in the batch.

In case of a trek being transferred to a friend, he/she should satisfy all the mandatory requirements put forward by the operator.
