    Trek to Dudhsagar Waterfalls (Ex-Pune)

    Visit the roaring waterfalls of Dudhsagar on a trek that will lead you through the thick jungles of the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. You’ll trek alongside railway tracks at the crack of dawn to catch spectacular views of the four-tiered cascading waterfalls of Dudhsagar. Catch misty morning views of the forests surrounding the waterfalls and a golden sunrise over the mountains of the Sahyadri range.

    This trek will lead you over a well-defined trail of relatively moderate to easy difficulty, making it perfect for fit beginners as well as experienced trekkers.

    Located an overnight train journey away from Pune, near the Karnataka-Goa state border, the Dudhsagar Waterfalls is the fifth tallest waterfall in India at a height of 1,020 feet. Dudhsagar, literally meaning ‘a sea of milk’, also ranks in the top 250 tallest waterfalls in the world. During the months of monsoon, the waterfalls become a sight to behold as the river is flooded with the rain water.

    Your trip begins from the Pune railway station by 15:30 hrs. Travel to Dudhsagar will be arranged in the 16:15 hrs Goa Express. No meals will be provided today, so make sure to have lunch before reporting to the Pune railway station. You may want to bring packed dinner to eat in the train journey, or choose to get meals in the train at an additional cost.

    Wake up at the crack of dawn and prepare for the trek to Dudhsagar Waterfalls. You'll get down at the Dudhsagar railway station at 04:00 hrs and begin trekking towards the waterfalls. Walking along the railway tracks, you'll trek with a glorious view of the morning sunrise. Reach the falls and spend some time admiring the beautiful views of the serpent-shaped waterfall. After breakfast in the morning, you'll begin the return trek to Kulem. Reach the Kulem railway station by afternoon and gather for lunch. You'll board a local railway train for a 1-hr ride to Madgaon railway station where you'll board the Mumbai Express. Overnight in transit.

    Today's meal package includes breakfast and lunch. You'll have breakfast at the Dudhsagar waterfalls and lunch at the Kulem railway station. At Kulem, you may want to buy food for a packed dinner in the train journey, or choose to get meals in the train at an additional cost.

    Cancellation policy

    For cancellations more than 15 days before departure of the Dudhsagar Waterfalls trek: 75% refund.

    For cancellations made 10-15 days before departure of the Dudhsagar Waterfalls trek: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 10 days before departure of the Dudhsagar Waterfalls trek: No refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting any transaction charges.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to adhere to the instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Dudhsagar Waterfalls.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trek.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Since the trek is conducted during the monsoon season, travellers are required to carry an extra pair of clothes with them.

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap or accident during the trek to Dudhsagar Waterfalls.
