    Trek to the most famous and highest base camp in the world, the base camp of Mt. Everest. This 16-day adventure in the Sagarmatha National Park will take you trekking alongside the glacial moraines and stark wilderness of high Himalayan mountains. En route, you'll grab awe-inspiring views of snow-swept peaks like Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Makalu and Mt. Everest. Another highlight of the trek to Everest Base Camp, you'll scale the face of Mt. Kala Patthar to witness a glorious sunrise over the Himalayas.

    Destination

    The base camp of Mt. Everest, located at an altitude of 17,600 feet, is the furthest that trekkers can travel on the face of Mt. Everest without the use of mountaineering equipment. The access trail to the location of the base camp takes you across the Sagarmatha National Park on this 16-day itinerary. Over the course of this itinerary, you'll witness a dramatic change in landscape from overgrown forests and river streams in the lower altitudes to glacial moraines and barren slopes on the higher altitudes.

    Rules on the trip

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Travellers are required to follow instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Everest Base Camp.

    Consumption of alcohol and drugs is prohibited during the trek. Consumption of tobacco products and cigarettes is not recommended.

    Cancellation policy

    All cancellations made on or more than 20 days before departure of the Everest Base Camp trek: 80% refund.

    All cancellations made less than 20 days before departure of the Everest Base Camp trek: no refund.

    In case of no show: no refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction charge for international payments and transfers. Please check with us to find out what this charge will be for the Everest Base Camp trek. All refunds will be subject to a foreign currency premium/discount.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    The trek to Everest Base Camp is rated moderate to difficult in intensity. Accordingly, the trek is recommended only to travellers with prior experience of at least one high-altitude trek in the Himalayas.

    A high level of health and fitness is required to book this trek to Everest Base Camp. If you have any cardiac or respiratory conditions, or suffer from knee or spinal problems, please inform the tour operator and consult your doctor before booking this trip.

    This trek will take travellers to destinations from 4,000-18,000 feet, where travellers who have not properly acclimatized may experience acute mountain sickness.

    Travellers from outside Nepal are requested to carry enough cash in the local currency to cover incidental and personal expenses during the trek.

    Prices displayed are subject to fluctuations based on international currency exchange rates at the time of booking. Accordingly, prices displayed may be subject to a foreign currency premium/discount.

    The tour operator reserves the right to alter or cancel the itinerary of the trek to Everest Base Camp due to bad weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances to ensure maximum safety of travellers and staff. Travellers are required to bear any additional costs arising due to such a change in itinerary.

  • Day 1 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Arrive in Kathmandu

    Land at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. From the airport, a representative of the tour operator will escort you to a pre-booked hotel in the Thamel area of Kathmandu. In the evening, you'll meet your trek leader to discuss the equipment, itinerary and weather for the Everest Base Camp trek. You can spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in a hotel at Kathmandu.

    Day 2 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Day at Kathmandu

    Spend the day at leisure in Kathmandu. You can take the day to explore the city of Kathmandu and visit the local marketplace to shop for any last minute essentials. Overnight in a hotel at Kathmandu.

    Day 3 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Kathmandu to Phakding

    Early in the morning, you'll be escorted back to the airport. Here, you'll board a domestic flight to the Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. With views of high Himalayan mountains, you'll begin trekking from Lukla to Phakding. The route follows the course of the Dudh Koshi River, as it passes through several villages decorated with mani walls, chhortens and prayer flags. Overnight in a tea-house at Phakding.

    Day 4 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Phakding to Namche Bazar

    Start the trek to Namche Bazar. En route, you'll enter the Sagarmatha National Park at the village of Monjo. Continuing alongside the Dudh Koshi river, you'll cross multiple, small suspension bridges over the river. The route continues to weave through sections of dense forests. Overnight in a tea-house at Namche Bazar.

    Day 5 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Day at Namche Bazar

    Spend the day acclimatizating to the thinning air of the higher altitude at Namche Bazar. You can embark on short day hikes from Namche and visit the village of Khumjung or the Mt. Everest view point. Alternatively, you can also spend the day at leisure in your tea-house. Overnight in a tea-house at Namche Bazar.

    Day 6 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Namche Bazar to Tengboche

    Begin the day's trek to Tengboche. The initial section of the trail leads through a fairly flat surface with gentle climbing. As you cross a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, you'll begin encountering tougher sections of the trail. At the village of Tengboche, you'll grab spectacular views of Mt. Ama Dablam. You'll also visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, where the first Mt. Everest summiteer, Tenzing Norgay once lived as a monk. Overnight in a tea-house at Tengboche.

    Day 7 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Tengboche to Dingboche

    Trek to Dingboche. En route, you'll stop at the village of Pangboche to visit a beautiful monastery that is said to have the scalp of a Yeti. Resume trekking after the brief interval and reach Dingboche, a common stopover village for trekkers to Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam or Mt. Island Peak. Overnight in a tea-house at Dingboche.

    Day 8 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Day at Dingboche

    Spend the day acclimatizating to the thinning air of the higher altitude at Dingboche. You can embark on short day hikes from Dingboche and trek to a view point just near the village. Alternatively, you can also spend the day at leisure in your tea-house. Overnight in a tea-house at Dingboche.

    Day 9 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Dingboche to Lobuche

    Today, you'll trek onward from Dingboche to Lobuche. On the trail, you'll notice distinct change in the climate and the landscape. The scenery will change from richly green vegetation to boulder-strewn glacial moraines on barren mountains. En route, you'll pass the Thuk-La Pass, where you'll see memorials to all the climbers that perished on the slopes of Mt. Everest. Overnight in a tea-house at Lobuche.

    Day 10 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Lobuche to Gorakshep via EBC

    The most awaited of all days, today will see you trekking to the final destination of the trip, the Everest Base Camp. Heading out from Lobuche, you'll trek over a rock trail to breathtaking views of the snowy terrain. After a short stop at Gorakshep, you'll resume trekking and reach for Everest Base Camp. Spend a few hours at base camp taking pictures and enjoying the views. You'll return to Gorakshep by late evening. Overnight in a tea-house at Gorakshep.

    Day 11 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Gorakshep to Pheriche via Kala Patthar

    Early in the morning, before the crack of dawn, you'll begin trekking up the face of Mt. Kala Patthar from Gorakshep. After an hour of intense climbing, you'll reach a view point on the mountain that provides for a panoramic view of the sunrise over the snow-stormed, rugged Himalayan terrain. Spend the morning at the view point and trek back to Gorakshep. A brief interval later, you'll resume trekking and make your way to Pheriche. Overnight in a tea-house at Pheriche.

    Day 12 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Pheriche to Namche Bazar

    Make your way downhill from Pheriche to Namche Bazar. Over an extended day involving eight hours of trekking, you'll leave the mountains of Everest behind and trek past villages of Lobuche, Tengboche and Dingboche to reach Namche Bazar. Overnight in a tea-house at Namche Bazar.

    Day 13 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Namche Bazar to Lukla

    On the last day of your trekking adventure, you'll trek back to Lukla via Monjo and Phakding. Once again you'll trail along the Dudh Koshi River while catching spectacular views of mountains and valleys. Once you reach Lukla, spend the night in a tea-house.

    Day 14 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Lukla to Kathmandu

    Fly back to Kathmandu from the Tenzing-Hillary airstrip at Lukla. You'll be transferred to a pre-booked hotel in the capital city upon arrival. Spend the rest of the day relaxing in your comfortable hotel rooms after a week spent in the Himalayan wilderness. In the evening, a farewell dinner is organized to celebrate the successful completion of the trek. Overnight in a hotel at Kathmandu.

    Day 15 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Contingency Day at Kathmandu

    This day is reserved at a contingency day to account for any change, delay or cancellation in the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances. In case of no such incidents, you can spend the day at leisure in Kathmandu. Take a stroll around Thamel, visit the various cultural attractions of the city or shop for gifts and souvenirs. Overnight in a hotel at Kathmandu.

    Check-out of your hotel and travel to the airport. Your trip ends here.

    Arrive at Kathmandu and spend the day at leisure. You'll have a short meeting with your trek leader in the evening to discuss preparedness for the trek. You'll be accommodation in a tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu. Since no meals are included in today's meal package, you can visit any of the restaurants in Kathmandu to have meals at your own expense.

    Day 2 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Day at Kathmandu

    Overnight in a hotel at Kathmandu.

    Spend the day at leisure in Kathmandu. Visit the marketplace to shop for any last minute essentials for the trek. If you're visiting from outside Nepal, make sure to visit an ATM in Kathmandu and get enough cash in the local currency to cover personal and incidental expenses for the entire trip. You'll be accommodated in the same hotel in Kathmandu. Today's meal package includes breakfast only. You can visit any of the restaurants in Kathmandu to have meals at your own expense.

    Day 3 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Kathmandu to Phakding

    Overnight in a tea-house at Phakding.

    Travel to Lukla in a domestic flight and trek to Phakding. Flights to Lukla are often subject to bad weather conditions and operational delays or even cancellations. A contingency day at the end of the itinerary accounts for such situations. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Phakding. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 4 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Phakding to Namche Bazar

    Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazar. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Namche Bazaar. In all tea-house accommodations, if twin-sharing rooms are unavailable, you may be allocated dormitory-style rooms on multi-sharing basis. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 5 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Day at Namche Bazar

    Overnight in a tea-house at Namche Bazar.

    Spend the day at Namche Bazar. The day is reserved to help you acclimatize to the higher altitude of Namche Bazar. To help this process, it is recommended that you take on short treks near Namche Bazar instead of resting in your tea-house. You'll be accommodated in the same tea-house as yesterday. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 6 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Namche Bazar to Tengboche

    Overnight in a tea-house at Tengboche.

    Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Tengboche. In all tea-house accommodations, washroom facilities are common to all guests of the tea-house. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 7 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Tengboche to Dingboche

    Overnight in a tea-house at Dingboche.

    Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Dingboche. All tea-house rooms are usually equipped with a bed, blanket and bed sheet. You'll be issued a sleeping bag to be used while sleeping. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 8 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Day at Dingboche

    Overnight in a tea-house at Dingboche.

    Spend the day at Dingboche. The day is reserved to help you acclimatize to the higher altitude of Dingboche. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Dingboche. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. While non-vegetarian options are present on the tea-house menu on most days, travellers are advised to stick to vegetarian dishes for concerns of health and fitness.

    Day 9 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Dingboche to Lobuche

    Overnight in a tea-house at Lobuche.

    Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche. Throughout the entire trek, you'll be accompanied by an experienced, English-speaking trek leader as well as a support staff of cooks, helpers and porters. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Lobuche. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 10 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Lobuche to Gorakshep via EBC

    Overnight in a tea-house at Gorakshep.

    Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep and visit the Everest Base Camp. Since travellers will be trekking on remote routes at altitudes of 4,000-18,000 feet, availability of services will be fairly limited. Accordingly, travellers are requested to moderate expectations of comfort and luxury. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Gorakshep. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 11 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Gorakshep to Pheriche via Kala Patthar

    Overnight in a tea-house at Pheriche.

    Trek from Gorakshep to Pheriche. Throughout the entire trek, you'll be accompanied by porters who will carry a limited weight of your personal luggage. The group will have one porter per two trekkers. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Pheriche. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 12 of the Everest Base Camp trek: Pheriche to Namche Bazar

    Overnight in a tea-house at Namche Bazar.

    Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar. Your trek leader, a government-approved and licensed guide, will carry a comprehensive first aid kit with him to be used in cases of emergencies. You'll be accommodated in a basic tea-house at Pheriche. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
