    The Hampta Pass trek offers you an exciting combination of lush green Himachal valleys and the stark landscapes of Lahaul and Spiti. You'll walk through meadows and thick oak and cedar-scented forests, followed by some tricky ice-covered trails that require careful negotiating. You'll find yourself going through gushing rivers one day, while trekking across deserted hilly regions the next. And let’s not forget the views that the Hampta Pass trek has to offer; from the Dhauladhar Ranges to the Chandra Valley to the Lahual and Spiti peaks; this trek is a spectacular adventure in all its aspects.

    Destination

    Located at a height of 14,108 feet, this high pass is found in the upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh. With Manali as the starting point of the trek, your route passes through Jobra, Chikha and Balu ka Ghera before reaching the main destination which is Hampta Pass itself. But your journey doesn’t end there! After crossing through lush grasslands, rivers and icy trails, you'll head on, through Shea Goru and Chhatru, and onward to the glistening moon-shaped freshwater sake of Chandratal. Chandratal lake is a sight you'll never forget, with clear blue water reflectin the wide expanse of sky above, and the mountains all around.

  • Day 1 of the Hampta Pass trek: Manali to Chikha

    Begin your journey with a drive from Manali to Jobra. Being at a high altitude, beginners may experience mountain sickness; it is imperative that you keep yourself hydrated. Known for its woody trails of maple, oak and deodar trees, from Jobra you can see the Rani Nallah flowing through lush green meadows. From Jobra your trek to Chikha begins. It is a beautiful location surrounded by grasslands and speckled with wild flowers. It is in this beautiful location that you get to spend your first night in tents.

    Overnight in tents.

    Your first night of camping is in Chikha, in tents on twin or triple sharing basis. Enjoy the convenience of a kitchen tent, toilet tent along with a cook to make fresh meals for you. Today’s package includes a vegetarian lunch and dinner.

  • Cancellation policy

    For cancellations made 0-10 days before the departure of the Hampta Pass trek: No refund, but you can transfer the same to a friend.

    For cancellations made 10-15 days before the departure of the Hampta Pass trek: 50% of the amount will be refunded, or you can move to another batch for the same trek, same season.

    For cancellations made 15-30 days before the departure of the Hampta Pass trek: 75% of the amount will be refunded, or you can choose another trek or other batches for the same trek, same season.

    For cancellations made 30 days or more before the departure of the Hampta Pass trek: 90% of the amount will be refunded, or you can transfer the trek to a family member, or get a voucher for the same amount, to be used in the same year.

    Rules on trip

    Participants must adhere to the instructions of the trip leader/guide at all times during the Hampta Pass trek.

    Consumption of alcoholic beverages/drugs during the Hampta Pass trek is not permitted.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    The supplier reserves the right to change the itinerary of the Hampta Pass trek without prior notice.

    Any trek costs are exclusive of any kind of insurances or medical coverage/benefits.

    In the case of transferring your booking to a family member or friend, that person should satisfy the mandatory requirements for the Hampta Pass trek.

    Changing of batches depends on availability of the Hampta Pass trek.
