    This 4-day trek to Hampta Pass will take you along narrow nature trails that pass through dense forests teeming with Himalayan wildlife and brightly coloured flowers. En route, you'll catch views of stunning landscapes with snow-capped mountain peaks of Dhauladhar, Spiti and Pir Panjal mountain ranges. Renowned among trekking enthusiasts as a gateway to the foothills of mighty Himalayas, the Hampta Pass trek also offers a chance to spend your nights camping at altitudes of 12,000 ft.

    On this 4-day adventure, you'll trek on moderately difficult terrain, making this trip perfect for fit beginners as well as experienced trekkers. Please note that this itinerary does not include Chandratal Lake.

    Destination

    Located at an altitude of 14,100 ft, Hampta Pass connects the two neighbouring valleys of Kullu and Spiti. In decades past, the pass used to serve as a popular route for traders coming from Spiti valley to sell their wares in town of Manali. Today, the pass is just as popular with trekking enthusiasts who come to explore the variety of Hampta’s landscape. From the lush grasslands and gushing rivers of the Kullu valley, the landscape undergoes a dramatic change to the barren mountain slopes and rough terrain of the Spiti Valley.   • Day 1 of the trek to Hampta Pass: Drive to Jobra and trek to Chika

    Make sure that you arrive at the Manali bus stand by 08:00 hrs. Here, you'll meet the rest of your team and take shared, private vehicles to the village of Jobra. After a 2-hr drive to Jobra, you'll begin trekking along an easy trail, overlooking the Rani River. You'll reach the Chika campsite after 3-hrs of trekking through dense forests.     You will be accommodated in alpine tents pitched at the campsite in Chika on a triple sharing basis. The campsite is equipped with common kitchen/dining and toilet tents. Today's meal package includes lunch upon arrival at the campsite and dinner in the evening. You may spend extra to have breakfast en route from Manali.

    Rules on trip

    Consumption of liquor, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trek to Hampta Pass.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Travellers are required to adhere to the instructions of the tour guide during the trek to Hampta Pass.

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap, accident or loss of life during the trek to Hampta Pass.

    Travellers will be required bear any additional costs arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, road blocks etc.
