    The Hampta Pass trek is one of the most well-known treks in Himachal Pradesh. The reason that so many people love the Hampta Pass trek is that it isn't too hard, but takes you to 14,000 feet in just 5 days. In addition, you get to experience all the adrenalin of scrambling over glaciers, navigating a challenging section at the pass, and walking over snowy patches and rocky stretches.

    The Hampta Pass trek is one of the most scenic treks in Himachal Pradesh. It offers you all the best Himachal trekking experiences, from verdant pastures, open meadows with fragrant sweet grass, grazing herds of sheep, friendly shepherds, to waterfalls, sparkling streams, and campsites under the stars. You'll trek from Manali to Hampta Pass, camping en route, and end with a visit to the fantastic Chandratal Lake, a high altitude glacial lake with blue, blue water.

  • Day 1 of Hampta Pass trek: Manali to Chika

    You will be picked up in Manali at 10:00 hrs, and driven to Jobra, which takes about an hour. From Jobra, you'll begin trekking towards Chika, which will be the first campsite of your Hampta Pass trek. You'll trek on an easy trail through pine and maple forests, and out into large meadows. A river flows through the meadow, and cows and sheep graze nearby. You'll enter Chika after a couple of hours of trekking, giving you the rest of the day to relax in the fresh mountain air. Overnight in tents.

    You'll arrive in the early afternoon to your first campsite, and will have time to relax, enjoy the views, and take some photographs. You'll be provided with tents (on triple sharing basis), sleeping bags and mattresses for this first night on the Hampta Pass trek. In addition, you'll also have access to shower tents, toilet tents, and a kitchen/dining tent. Today's package includes only dinner.

  • Cancellation policy

    The cancellation policy is as follows:

    For any cancellations made 24 days or more prior to the departure of the Hampta Pass and Chandratal trek: 95% of the total trip cost will be refunded minus any transaction charges, or you can use this amount to book any other trek with the same operator within a year.

    For cancellations made between 14-24 days before the departure of the Hampta Pass and Chandratal trek: 70% of the total trip cost will be refunded minus any transaction charges, or you can use this amount to book the same trek with any other batch of the same operator within a year.

    For any cancellations made between 10-14 days before the departure of the Hampta Pass and Chandratal trek: 50% of the total trip cost will be refunded minus any transaction charges, or you can use this amount for the same trek in the same season.

    For cancellations made less than 10 days before the departure of the Hampta Pass and Chandratal trek: No refund but you can transfer the same trek to a friend.

    Rules on trip

    Participants must adhere to the instructions of the trip leader/guide at all times during the Hampta Pass trek.

    Consumption of alcoholic beverages/drugs is not permitted while trekking.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Trek the Himalayas reserves the right to change/cancel the plans for the Hampta Pass trek without prior notice if deemed necessary. No arguments or refunds will be entertained.

    Any event cost for the Hampta Pass trek is exclusive of any kind of insurances or medical coverage/benefits.

    Change of trek batch is dependent on the availability of seats in the batch.

    In case of transferring a trek to a friend, he/she should satisfy all the mandatory requirements put forward by the operator.

    The operator holds the right to change/cancel the policies, without prior notice.
