  • Trip introduction

    Har Ki Dun, which translates to Valley of the Gods, is one of the least explored places in the Garhwal region. This is not a difficult trek, but it has some long days of trekking, so you should be aware of that. You'll be trekking alongside rivers, crossing gorgeous meadows and forests, and camping at stunning locations. One of the highlights of the Har ki Dun trek is the views all around, and you'll get plenty of time to enjoy the views on this 7 day trek.

    Destination

    Har ki Dun lays in Govind Wild Life Sanctuary and National Park in Uttarakhand, and offers spectacular views. You'll be able to see other famous peaks in the region like Banderpoonch, Swargarohini etc. Every night, you'll stop at pretty campsites, and you'll wake up to dewy mountain mornings. The trek route winds past charming villages, over rickety wooden bridges, along sparkling streams, and into the Har ki Dun valley, where wildflowers and pine forests surround you.

    Rules on the trip

    Participants must adhere to the instructions of the team leader during the trek to Har Ki Dun.

    Smoking, consumption of alcohol, narcotic drugs etc. is strictly prohibited on the Har Ki Dun trek.

    Cancellation policy

    For cancellations made 24 days or more before departure of the trek to Har Ki Dun: 95% of trek cost will be refunded.

    For cancellations made between 14-24 days before departure of the trek to Har Ki Dun: 70% of trek/tour cost will be refunded.

    For cancellations made between 8-14 days before departure of the trek to Har Ki Dun: 50% of trek/tour cost will be refunded.

    For cancellations made less than 7 days before departure of the trek to Har Ki Dun: No refund.

    No show: No refund.

    All refund amounts will be processed after deducting any transaction charges.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    The operator reserves the right to change the itinerary of the Har Ki Dun trek depending upon the weather conditions and other factors. If extra cost is incurred due to rescheduling, it will be borne by the trekker.

    Please note that sometimes an unforeseen event may force changes in the itinerary of the trek to Har Ki Dun. In such cases, your trek leader will suggest the best alternative similar to your original itinerary.

    All the arrangements for the Har Ki Dun trek are pre-planned and prepaid. In case of non completion of the Har Ki Dun trek due to any reason whatsoever there will not be any refund for any unutilized services. Any extra expense due any alteration has to be paid extra.

  • Day 1 of the Har Ki Dun trek: Drive to Sankri

    You'll meet the operator at 06:00 hrs at Dehradun Railway Station, and will board vehicles that will take you to Sankri today. It's a long drive, covering about 200 kms over 10 hrs, but it's very scenic. By late evening, you'll reach Sankri, where your campsite is set up just a little distance outside the town. Enjoy an evening under the stars, and then retire to your tents for the night. Make sure you get enough sleep so you're ready for your Har ki Dun trek tomorrow!

    Day 2 of the Har Ki Dun trek: Trek to Osla

    After breakfast and a brief orientation by the trek leader, you drive onwards to Taluka, which is 12 kms away. Your Har Ki Dun trek begins from here. It's a 14 km trek to Osla village, and you'll cross bridges over the Tons river, and hike through lush green slopes dotted with wild orchids. If you're lucky, you might also encounter Himalayan wildlife like the barking deer, blue sheep or bears. Once you pitch your tents at the campsite, you can explore the beauty and serenity of the place. Overnight stay in tents.

    Day 3 of the Har Ki Dun trek: Trek to Har Ki Dun

    Trekking through the open meadows that offer stunning views of the snow-capped peaks, you'll continue for about 6 hours before you reach Har Ki Dun. The view from Har Ki Dun is absolutely rewarding, and nothing like you’ve ever seen before. Overnight stay in tents.

    Day 4 of the Har Ki Dun trek: Explore Har Ki Dun

    Har Ki Dun valley has a lot to offer, and therefore you get an entire day to explore this beautiful place. You can choose to relax and enjoy the views from the camp or trek further to Jaundhar glacier. It takes about 3 hours to cover the 4 kms distance to Jaundhar glacier, but the view from there is breathtaking. After spending a few hours here you return back to the campsite. Overnight stay in tents.

    Day 5 of the Har Ki Dun trek: Trek to Osla

    Embark on the return journey via the same route. Considering it is a downhill trek, you will take about 4 hours to cover the 11 km distance to Osla village. After lunch, you can relax for the day or go about exploring. Overnight stay in tents.

    Day 6 of the Har Ki Dun trek: Trek to Sankri

    While the trek distance for the day is long (25 kms), you will cover the same in about 8 hours considering it is a downhill trek. Once you reach Sankri you can relax at the campsite. Overnight stay in tents.

    Day 7 of the Har Ki Dun trek: Drive to Dehradun

    You'll start early in the morning on your return journey towards Dehradun. It will take 10 hours and you should reach Dehradun by evening. Your trek to Har ki Dun ends here.
