    The Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara Lake trek is a moderate trek, suitable for beginners. On this trek, you'll trek to the gorgeous valley of Har Ki Dun and the enchanting lake of Ruinsara which is nestled amidst snow-capped mountains. The trek is a mix of peaceful walks and adventurous ascents, as you trek through dense forests of fir, pine, and rhododendron, of the Govind National Park to reach the two destinations. A part of the trek also follows a river and takes you through lush meadows.

    Destination

    The first destination of the trek is Har Ki Dun, which is called the Valley of Gods, situated deep within the Govind Pashu National Park. It is known for its rich flora and fauna, and the trail is covered in colourful orchids and dozens of wildflowers. The second destination is the Ruinsara Lake, which is a sacred lake located on the other side of Swargarohini Peak as opposed to Har Ki Dun, and is known for its crystal clear water and the backdrop of snow-capped mountains. On this trek, you'll also get to see the Black Peak, which is the highest peak in the Banderpunch Group of mountains.

  • Day 1 of the Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara Lake Trek: Drive from Dehradun to Sankri

    Today, you'll be picked up at the Dehradun Railway Station at 06:30 hrs, from where you'll be driven to Sankri. It is a long drive through a scenic route, and the final stretch of the road crossed through the Govind Pashu National Park. You'll reach Sankri in the evening. Overnight in tents/homestay at Sankri.

    Today, you'll be picked up from Dehradun Railway Station by 06:30 hrs, from where you'll be driven to Sankri. Today's meal package includes dinner only, so remember to carry extra cash for lunch on the way.

    For cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara Lake trek: 100% refund.

    For cancellations made 15-30 days prior to the Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara Lake trek: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 15 days prior to the Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara Lake trek: No refund.

    In case of no show: No refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Rules on trip

    Participants must adhere to the instructions of the team leader during the trek to Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara lake.

    Smoking, consumption of alcohol, narcotic drugs etc. is strictly prohibited on the Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara Lake trek.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    The operator reserves the right to change the itinerary of the Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara Lake trek depending upon the weather conditions and other factors. If extra cost is incurred due to rescheduling, it will be borne by the trekker.

    Please note that sometimes an unforeseen event may force changes in the itinerary of the trek to Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara Lake. In such cases, your trek leader will suggest the best alternative similar to your original itinerary.

    All the arrangements for the Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara Lake trek are pre-planned and prepaid. In case of non-completion of the Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara Lake trek due to any reason there will not be any refund for any unutilized services. Any extra expense due any alteration has to be paid extra.
