The trek to Harishchandragad must be done on account of the fort's rich history and also because it is one of the more challenging treks in Maharashtra. The highlight of the Harishchandragad trek is standing atop the Konkan Kada - one of the highest cliffs in Maharashtra. On the top, you will also spot the Saptatirtha Lake and watch the ancient yet vibrant Kedareshwar temple. You will begin this trek to Harishchandragad from Pachnai village, and follow the jungle trail of ascending through rocky patches and steep inclines. This trek is not recommended from beginners as the trail to Harishchandragad features some scary drops and difficult climbs.
Harishchandragad is a hill fort in Maharashtra. Trekking to Harshchandragad is regarded as one of the most challenging treks in the Western Ghats. Situated in the Malshej region of the ghats, it is at a distance of approximately 90 km from Kalyan. The fort is famous for its rugged terrain and offers a view of the surrounding green hills of the Sahyadris on the way to the summit. The biggest attraction here is Konkankada, also known as a 'Cobra's hood', one of the highest cliffs in Maharashtra. At the top, you can see the Saptatirtha lake and a Shiva Shiling shrine in the Kedareshwar Cave.
