Trekking
This is a paragraph with little content.

This is another small paragraph.

  • Trip introduction

Island Peak or Imja Tse is one of the more popular trekking peaks located in the Everest region of Nepal at the altitude 6,189 m/20,305 ft. If you're looking for something more challenging than Everest Base Camp, climbing the Island Peak is one of the best options. It is also a great peak to start with if you have more mountaineering ambitions in Nepal.

The 18-day trek to Island Peak begins with the exhilarating mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the start point of the trek. One of the highlights of this trek is climbing the Kala Patthar mountain which offers phenomenal views of Everest's north face, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, and Khumbu icefall. Along the way, you will also visit Tengboche monastery, pass by quaint villages of Nepal, trek alongside rivers and over moraines, and traverse long suspension bridges with outstanding views of green valleys.

The climb to Island Peak is not as simple and you need to be at a high level of fitness to summit the peak. You also need to have experience of trekking at more than 16,000 ft altitude and a little expertise in mountaineering.

    Destination

Island Peak or ImjaTse stands at the height of 6,189 m/20,305 ft and is located at the end of Chhukung Valley, only a few kilometres away from the mighty Mt. Everest. The peak was named Island Peak because it appears as an island in the ocean of ice when viewed from Dingboche. The Island Peak is an extension of the ridge coming down off the south end of Mt. Lhotse. The final climb through the headwall of the Island Peak can only be accomplished using ice axes and crampons. The reward for all this exertion is an unparalleled view of AmaDablam and the south face of Lhotse.

Throughout the trek, you will be staying in cozy tea houses perched in gorgeous settings across the villages of Nepal. Only a day before and on the day of the summit climb, you will be staying in tents at the Island Peak base camp. During the tent stay, mattresses will be provided to you for your convenience, and all meals throughout the tent stay.
