  • Trip introduction

    For a short time afer the monsoon, the lovely green Kaas Plateau turns into Maharashtra's very own Valley of Flowers. The plateau is covered with a carpet of colourful wildflowers, drawing trekkers and nature lovers from around the country. During this time, there are over 850 species of flowers, including multi-colored orchids and the rare and beautiful Karvi flower.

    On this trip, you'll spend some time at Kaas Plateau in the morning, and trek down to Kaas Lake as well. It's an easy adventure that anyone can do, and will be specially beautiful in September.

    IMPORTANT: This route does not have any fixed washrooms or bathrooms.


    The Kaas Plateau, also known as the Kaas Pathar, is close to the city of Satara, Maharashtra. Other attractions around the plateau are Kaas Lake, about 2 kms away, and the Sajjangad fort and Kanher Dam. There are forests all around, and the area is so rich that it has been declared a biodiversity world heritage site by UNESCO.

    Rules on the trip

    Smoking cigarettes, chewing tobacco or consuming alcohol is strictly prohibited on the Kaas Plateau trek.

    You must stick with your group at all times.

    No damage should be inflicted on monuments or natural environments.

    You must adhere to the instructions of the trek leader at all times during the Kaas Plateau trek.

    Taking photos or selfies near the edges of cliffs is not allowed.

    Participants are requested to carry trash back to the city and dispose it in dustbins.

    Cancellation policy

    If cancellation is done 10 days or more before the start of the Kaas Plateau trek: 75% will be refunded.

    If cancellation is done 5-10 days prior to the start of the Kaas Plateau trek: 50% will be refunded.

    If the cancellation is done 0-5 days before the start of the Kaas Plateau trek: No refund.

    No show: No refund.

    If you wish to transfer your booking to someone else, or reschedule to another date, the cancellation policy will apply, and only the applicable refund amount will be transferred or rescheduled.

    In case of injury, damage to self or property or death, the operator cannot be held responsible.

    Adventure activity is arranged considering normal weather. In case of cancellation of the Kaas Plateau trek due to reasons beyond control such as natural calamities, riots, political uncertainty, public transport failure etc, refund shall be payable with respect to the given to refund policy.

    There will be no refunds or discounts given for services unused or missed due to traveller's own fault, negligence or breach of terms.

    The pick-up is at Pritam Hotel, Dadar (23:!5 hrs), K Star Mall, Chembur (23:30 hrs), Below flyover, Sec 17, Vashi (00:15 hrs), and Hotel 3 Star, Kharghar (00:30 hrs).

  • Day 1 of the Kaas Plateau trek: Depart for Kaas

    Assemble at Pritam Hotel in Dadar East by 23:15 hrs, where you'll have a short round of briefing, and then will board the bus to Kaas Plateau. It's an overnight journey, so settle down to sleep. Overnight in bus.

    Day 2 of the Kaas Plateau trek: Kaas exploration and return

    By 06:00 hrs, you'll arrive at Kaas Plateau. You'll be given breakfast here while you introduce yourselves to each other, and then you set off on your trekking adventure. You'll have plenty of time to explore the plateau and take beautiful pictures. By 11:00 hrs, you trek down towards the lake. You'll eat lunch here, and spend some time enjoying the scenic monsoon beauty at the lake. By 15:00 hrs, it's time to board the bus and return to Mumbai. You should be back in Dadar by 22:00 hrs, and the trip ends here.

    Overnight in non-A/C private bus.

    You'll board the bus at 23:15 at night for an overnight journey to Kaas Plateau. Carry a light shawl or blanket to keep comfortable on the bus while you sleep, and some dry snacks and a water bottle.

    Day 2 of the Kaas Plateau trek: Kaas exploration and return

    Your trip ends before night fall.

    You'll be given a veg breakfast upon your arrival at the Kaas plateau. Then you can spend the day exploring the plateau and the lake. You'll stop for lunch at the lake and will have a choice of veg or non-veg. After this, you'll board buses and head home, stopping en route for tea and coffee. You'll arrive at Dadar by around 22:00 hrs. Trip ends here.
