• Trip introduction

This adventure trip combines some of the best that a Sahyadri monsoon has to offer: a fun trek in the night through a beautiful forest, a rambling night trail on a plateau at the top to see the miracle of fireflies, and a challenging pinnacle climb the next day.

The Prabalmachi-Kalavantin climb is one of the most unique treks in the Western Ghats. The Prabalgad fort is built at the top of a rocky plateau at a height of 2,300 feet with a pinnacle at the top. You'll climb a steep trail to Prabalmachi, the village on the plateau, and then stay there for the night. Next morning, you'll set off for a thrilling session of climbing the Kalavantin pinnacle. This is a pointed rock structure with very little space at the top, and involves some tricky navigation of craggy rock and a trail that winds up and around the pinnacle.
