Kaka Halwai Sweets on Shashtri Road is a famous Puneri sweet shop, near Kamat Hotel in Pune.
Kalavantin Fort stands atop a plateau, and has a sharp rock pinnacle that is the highlight of this trek! You'll climb up a moderately easy trek with some steep patches, till you get to the Prabal plateau. The pinnacle stands atop this plateau, and is a thrilling adventure on it's own. You'll navigate up the rock-cut stairs, fully exposed to the winds and the weather, on slippery steps with no railings to support you. You will be holding your breath as you pace your way to the top of the pinnacle. At the top, there's a small section that requires some rock-climbing, and gives you stunning panoramic views all around.
The Kalavantin fort was used as a watch tower and is located right next to the Prabalgad fort. Not much remains of the fort structure, but most trekkers attempt this trek for the views and for the pinnacle climb. From the peak, you'll get splendid views of the Prabalgad Fort and in the distance, one can also see Peb fort and Chanderi Fort.

Report to Kaka Halwai Sweets early in the morning, by 06:00 hours, and board the vehicle to take you to the base village, Thakurwadi. You'll stop en route for breakfast, and will reach by 10:00 hrs. After a short briefing, the trek begins from here. You'll climb up a fairly steep trail, and will get to the Kalavantin just before noon. The pinnacle climb is the best part of the trek, and you'll have some time to explore. After that, you'll stop for lunch, and then begin the descent. By 16:00 hrs, you begin the return drive to Pune. By 20:00 hrs, you should be back in Pune. Trip ends here.

You will be driven from Pune to Thakurwadi, the base village. You will be provided breakfast on this trip. Do carry a packed lunch for the trek and keep light snacks handy. You will be driven back from Thakurwadi and should arrive in Pune by 20:00 hours. Trip ends here.
