    Take on the challenge of scaling the highest peak of Maharashtra by climbing to the top of Kalsubai. Trekking on a gradually ascending route with patches of steep inclines, you'll climb to an elevation of 5,400 feet. From the top, you'll get breathtaking views of the waters of Lake Arthur, meadows of Bhandardara and mountains of Western Ghats.

    This trek to Kalsubai will take you over a moderately difficult trail, accordingly it is recommended that only trekking enthusiasts with some prior experience attempt this trek.


    Located near the picturesque campsites of Bhandardara, the Kalsubai peak is located only a short 1-hr drive away from Nashik. For trekking enthusiasts, the trek to Kalsubai is a must-do adventure due to the challenge of hiking over strenuous patches of trails and mesmerizing views from vantage points along the way. To make the trek a little easier, the government has recently installed stairs and railings at a few places along the trail.

  • Trek to Kalsubai!

    Arrive at the Kasara railway station at 01:20 hrs and meet the trek leader and your fellow trekkers. You'll board private, shared vehicles that will drive you to the base village of this trek, Baari. After a 1-2 hr drive, you'll arrive at Baari where you'll rest till the break of dawn. Take a nap in the vehicle or interact with your fellow trekkers. You'll wake up at 05:00 hrs and have some breakfast with tea. Begin trekking after breakfast, and scale the highest mountain peak in Maharashtra. You'll spend some time at the top exploring the magnificent monsoon views, and then descend back to Baari.

    After lunch at Baari, you'll begin the return drive back to Kasara. By 16:00 hrs, you'll arrive at the Kasara railway station where you can board a train to your next destination. Your trip ends here.

    Your trip begins from the Kasara railway station at 01:20 hrs. Today's meal package includes breakfast and lunch. Both meals will be vegetarian and served at the base village of Baari. The trip ends as you travel back to Kasara railway station by 16:00 hrs.

    For cancellations made 4-6 days before departure of the Kalsubai trek: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made 2-3 days before departure of the Kalsubai trek: 30% refund.

    For cancellations made less than 2 days before departure of the Kalsubai trek: No refund.

    Rules on trip

    Travellers are required to adhere to the instructions of the trek leader during the trek to Kalsubai.

    Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trip.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    The tour operator reserves the right to cancel or alter the itinerary of the trek to Kalsubai to maximize the safety of travellers as well as staff.

    Travellers will be required to bear any additional costs arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, road blocks etc.
