This night trek to Kalsubai gives you the thrill of conquering the highest peak in Maharashtra, with the experience of climbing in the dark. You'll scale a 5400 feet tall mountain when the moon is overhead, with the hooting of owls and the rustling of nocturnal animals in the bushes.
This trek requires a certain amount of fitness and stamina but can be undertaken by fit beginners. The route can get tricky, with steep slopes and iron ladders to climb, but you'll get to the top and get gorgeous views of the faraway lights glimmering in the sleeping land below. You'll also spot the Alang, Madan, Kulang and Ratangad peaks, alongside the Pabhargad and Harishchandragad forts.
Found within the Kalsubai Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary, Kalsubai towers at a monumental height of 5,400 feet. This lofty peak is called the ‘Everest of Maharashtra,’ and is a tough climb, especially at night. The lower half is enveloped in dense forest and rocky trails, and the descent can be quite steep too, although you'll be doing that when the sun is up. Your trek starts from the small hamlet of Bari and goes along the ladder route, taking you to the perfect vantage point so you can enjoy a stunning sunrise.

Make sure you catch the Kasara fast local departing at 16:42 hours from CST Station, so that you can get to Kasara Station by 19:18 hours. You'll meet the operator at the station and will be driven to Bari, the base village. You'll reach by 21:30 hours and will enjoy a delicious dinner. After some rest, you'll start your trek at 23:00 hours. The beginning of the trek takes you through dense jungles and rocky trails and you'll use flashlights to navigate in the dark.
Overnight in the wilderness.
You'll be picked up at Kasara and driven to Bari, where you'll be given dinner, as well as washrooms and changing room facilities. You'll begin your trek by about 23:00 hrs, and will reach the top by 02:00 hrs. You can explore the surroundings a bit, and then get some rest in your sleeping bag after that.

If cancellation is done 5-10 days prior to the start of the Kalsubai night trek: 50% of the trip cost will be refunded, minus transaction charges.

Taking photos or selfie near the edges of cliffs are not allowed on the Kalsubai trek.
Participants are requested to carry trash back to the city and dispose it in dustbins.
