You'll see the rolling green landscape of Maharashtra, leading to some other famous peaks of the range, including Ratangad, Alang-Madan-Kulang, and Harishchandragad. The trek, however, challenges your endurance, and it is only suitable for experienced trekkers.
Located at a towering height of 5400 feet, the Kalsubai Peak is the highest peak in the Western Ghats. It is located in an offshoot range of Sahyadri: the Kalsubai Mountain Range, aptly named after the peak itself. The trail leading up the fort consists of steep rocky patches and slippery patchs, and vertical slopes that require you to climb iron ladders that have been placed there in recent years. The best time to visit the peak is in monsoons when the surrounding landscape is flourishing with greenery stretching all the way to the horizon, with massive clouds caught up between distant peaks.
