The midnight trek to Kalsubai is a thrilling experience that will take you to the highest mountain peak in Maharashtra. Under the shadows of the dark sky, you'll begin trekking in the wee hours of the morning and climb uphill to an elevation of 5,400 feet to scale the Kalsubai peak. You'll trek through thick forests on stone-cobbled pathways for an exciting adventure in the Western Ghats. From the top of the Kalsubai peak, you'll get breathtaking views of neighbouring mountain peaks of Alang, Madan and Kulang.
Easily accessible on a well-defined trail, Kalsubai is a perfect trek for fit beginners as well as experienced trekkers.
Kalsubai, often regarded as the Mt. Everest of Maharashtra, is the highest mountain peak in the state. Placed under the protection of a wildlife sanctuary, the natural delights of Kalsubai flourish during the monsoon rains with thick jungles covering most, if not all, of the mountains. A small temple at the top of the mountain attracts several local villagers who frequently trek to Kalsubai to visit the temple. Located in the Western Ghats with close proximity to Mumbai and Pune, Kalsubai is a popular peak for trekking enthusiasts looking for a short day trek for the weekend.

Arrive at the Kasara railway station by 01:30 hrs. You may board the second last compartment of the 22:50 hrs train from CST and meet your fellow trekkers en route. From Kasara, you'll travel to the base village of Bari in shared, private vehicles. You'll rest for a short while at Bari and have a brief orientation and introduction session with your trek leader. Just before the crack of dawn, you'll begin trekking from Bari on a well-defined nature trail through bushes and forests of the Kalsubai mountain. You'll reach the peak of the mountain by early morning. Have breakfast at the top of Kalsubai and admire a beautiful sunrise and the lush green mountains surrounding Kalsubai. After spending an hour or so at the top, you'll begin trekking down to Bari and reach by noon. After lunch at Bari, you'll travel back to Kasara railway station in vehicles. Your trip ends here.

Today's meal package includes breakfast and lunch. Breakfast and morning tea may be served at the top of Kalsubai. Lunch may be served at Bari as you descend back down and leave for Kasara.
