    Destination

Located at an altitude of 9,600 feet, the Kareri Lake is a shallow, freshwater lake in the Dhauladar mountain ranges. Fed by melting glaciers, the lake remains frozen in the months of winter. As the seasons turn to summer, the ice melts to form the vast Kareri Lake. A small stream called Niyund flows from the lake and continues downward towards McLeod Ganj.
