At night, you'll end a day of adventure by camping under the starlit Himachali night sky.

Kareri Lake is a high-altitude lake located at almost 9,250 feet high in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh. The lake, marked by sprawling forests of oak, pine and rhododendron on all sides, is a popular destination for travellers looking for a short trek in the Himalayas. With beautiful views of snow-clad mountain peaks in the Dhauldhar range, the vast expanse of the lake and its surrounding grounds make for a picturesque campsite. This shallow, fresh water lake often freezes over in the months of winter as the temperature drops to sub-zero levels.

The trek begins from McLeod Ganj, where you'll meet your trek leader and begin on a mountain trail towards the Kareri village. The trek takes you on a route through dense forests of pine and oak, with multiple small villages and rural settlements along the way. Overnight in a village homestay or tents in Kareri Village.

McLeod Ganj is well-connected to most major cities of the country via flights to Gaggal Airport and trains to Pathankot Railway Station. You can take local transport via road to travel to McLeod Ganj from the airport (20 kms away) or the railway station (90 kms away).
