Kareri Lake is a high-altitude lake located at almost 9,250 feet high in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh. The lake, marked by sprawling forests of oak, pine and rhododendron on all sides, is a popular destination for travellers looking for a short trek in the Himalayas. With beautiful views of snow-clad mountain peaks in the Dhauldhar range, the vast expanse of the lake and its surrounding grounds make for a picturesque campsite. This shallow, fresh water lake often freezes over in the months of winter as the temperature drops to sub-zero levels.
