    Located at the height of almost 10,000 ft, the trek to Kareri Lake will give you incredible mountains views in just a few days of trekking. This shallow freshwater lake is approached by ascending along the rocky grasslands, subtropical forests and babbling streams. This trek is a great for bird-watchers too as you will see a few exotic birds, including the black drongo along the way to the lake.

    On the first day of this trek, you will go sightseeing in Mcleodganj and visit the beautiful Bhagsunag Waterfall, explore the Dalai Lama Monastery and Gallu Devi Temple.

    Even though this trek to Kareri Lake is fairly easy, there are few steep climbs along the way. So, this trek is recommended for fit beginners and experienced trekkers.


    Kareri Lake is situated at an altitude of 9,625 feet in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Kareri Lake is a shallow glacial lake formed by the melting of glaciers, and is surrounded by the imposing Dhauladhars. The ambiance of the lake is generally calm and pleasant. Kareri Lake is also a base camp trekkers planning to trek to the Minkiani and Baleni Pass.

    Throughout the trek, you will be camping at gorgeous locations and spend the night in tents on double/triple sharing basis. Sleeping bags and mats will be provided for your comfort.
