  • Trip introduction

The trek to the great lakes of Kashmir offers a rare opportunity to explore some of the most spectacular lakes in the country. The calm environs and pristine lakes are edged by the snow-clad mountains, leaving you spellbound.

This 8-day trek is a fairly challenging one, because there are some long trekking hours to cover 63 km and you'll experience altitudes of 13000 ft, but the rewards are spectacular. You'll pass through high altitude meadows, pine and maple forests, have a chace to go trout fishing, scramble over huge boulders around the lakes, and camp beside lakes at night. It's the complete adventure experience! Try to arrive a day early so you have a chance to acclimatize.

IMPORTANT: Being close to the border, a few of the lake camps will require you to submit your original IDs at the military camps.
