• Trip introduction

The Kedarkantha trek is one of the best loved treks in the Himalayas. In the summer, you'll have blue skies and snow-capped mountains all around. You'll trek through lush pine and oak forests, on trails dotted with wildflowers; you'll camp by emerald lakes, and walk through wide open meadows. Kedarkantha Peak is a gorgeous ridge peak, with spectacular views of Black Peak, Ranglana Peak, Bandarpooch and Swargarohini Peak. This is a moderate trek and is great for both fit first timers as well as experienced trekkers.

Located in the midst of the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park in Uttarakhand, the Kedarkantha trek is ideal for bird watchers and nature lovers. You'll see all kinds of Himalayan species of flora and fauna, including (if you're lucky!) the Asian black bear or the musk deer.

Kedarkantha Peak stands tall at an elevation of 12,500 feet. The first stages of the trek are through forests of pine, oak and maple, with flowering rhodendron trees to add colour, while the upper sections have meadows and sweeping views.
