Trips for kids
This is a paragraph with little content.

This is another small paragraph.

  • Trip introduction

One of the most popular kids' camps, this 8-day trip is aimed at introducing children to adventure and confidence building activities like rapelling, valley crossing, trekking and archery. Kids also spend their days playing games like basketball and volleyball against local teams. Another day is spent in community work like building or repairing a bridge, where the participants work in the local village with the community.

In addition to developing a love for the outdoors, this trip also helps foster an appreciation for local communities and team-work.

    Destination

Mukteshwar is a small town, around 51 kms beyond Nainital, in the Tache Kumaon hills of Uttarakhand, and is an amazing place to camp in summers. The beautiful campsite is at an altitude of 7500 feet, aptly named Camp Purple, and is filled with beautiful purple-hued cosmos flowers. Participants also get some stunning views of the surrounding hills from the campsite.

    Destination highlights

    • Experience the thrill of valley crossing, rock climbing, rapelling and many other adventure activities
    • Enjoy an archery session
    • Learn to pitch a tent and set up camp
    • Assist with some volunteer work at the local community
    • Participate in some friendly games like basketball and volleyball, with the locals

    Rules on the trip

Substitution of one camper with another is not permitted.

Camp will be organised in the most informal atmosphere. However camp discipline is binding on everyone. Campers must abide by the directives of the camp organisers at all times.

The campers are required to carry their own luggage and hence should carry only essential items with them. All campers are responsible for the safety of their luggage/ belongings throughout the camp. Pugmarks/Eco Tours will not accept any liability in this regard.

Girls and small children should not visit public toilets without an escort.

Smoking, consumption of liquor, tobacco/tobacco products are strictly prohibited for the entire duration of the camp.

All the campers should keep the trails and camp site litter free. The waste can be disposed of in the city for recycling.

Collection of corals, shells, flowers/fossils, rocks, fungus and other life-forms are forbidden.

    Cancellation policy

Cancellation charges will be applicable as follows and will cover all situations such as injuries, sickness, exams, interviews, selection in tournaments etc.

Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

Pugmarks establishes a tie up with local hospital/nursing home/doctor at every campsite.

In case of remote areas, either a vehicle is retained at the campsite or it is on call at the local transporter.

A roll call/physical count will be taken to ensure nobody is left behind. This will be observed during travel, treks and adventure activities. A Pugmarks instructor will lead the walking trail in the jungle. The end will be brought up by another instructor and nobody will trail behind him.

Food on Pugmarks camp is good and plentiful. It is predominantly vegetarian, freshly cooked, non oily and non spicy. Water on campsite is clean and treated with liquid chlorine if required.

In the mountains, there are rescue parties to evacuate victims suffering from altitude sickness, asthma and body injuries. In the remote wilderness, there are standby vehicles to transfer the victim to the nearest primary health centre or hospital.

Emergency involving whole group - This can be a natural calamity, local unrest and violence or even a mundane traffic jam that throws all schedules out of gear. In such situations, the control room seeks help from the police commissioner and coordinates with district authorities to sort out the problem.
